Jackson AND THE NULLIFIERS.

Why Yankee land is at a stand, Their cotton bags, may turn to rags, And all in consternation; If Eastern men don't buy them, For in the South they make a rout, For all their gold, they may be sold, And all about Nullification. Or their slaves may yet destroy them. Sing Yankee doodle doodle doo, Sing Yankee doodle doodle doo, Yankee doodle dandy, Yankee doodle dandy, Our foes are few our hearts are true, If their cotton bags don't find a sale, And Jackson is quite handy. Their cash wont be so handy.

These Southern knaves are blustering blades, When we our glorious Constitution form'd, Their cash they think is handy, These Southern men declined it, But we of the North are the right sort, But soon they found they were unarmed, And the Union is the dandy. Cæsar, Cato, Pomp, and Dinah, So sound the trumpet, beat the drum, Sing Yankee doodle doodle doo, Play Yankee doodle dandy, Yankee doodle dandy. We Jackson boys will quickly come, These Southern folks, may crack their jokes, And be with our rifles handy. If notherners are so handy. The Wellington invincibles When dire oppressed by British laws, At New-Orleans were beat, Sir, They sent for our protection, And do the Southerns think their pills, We sent them aid in Freedom's cause, Will frighten us to a retreat, Sir. Nor thought of their nullification.
