Purpose of the role

To drive revenue, attendance and customer satisfaction for the Motor Circuit’s portfolio of products. These include Track and Low Grip experiences, Ultimate Driving, Classic Car experiences and the private hire of facilities to both the retail and corporate sectors.

The marketing of the Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and Members’ Meeting events are not part of this role. .

Key responsibilities: what does this role look like?

The Motor Circuit Marketing Executive role is responsible for:

Marketing and Comms

 Developing creative, and effective marketing strategies and activity plans to drive sales for both retail and corporate products at the Motor Circuit.  Supporting the development of new products and services for targeted customer groups  Writing and creating the email campaigns to targeted customer groups using our Dotmailer platform.  Updating the Motor Circuit areas of the Goodwood website ensuring that content remains up- to-date, fresh and engaging.  Creating, writing and briefing the Goodwood in-house Studio to create highly engaging marketing collateral for relevant products at the Circuit.  Day to day management of the Motor Circuit’s social media channel, currently Instagram.  Pro-actively growing the Goodwood e-mail database through maximising opt-in opportunities and other methods that generate data capture.  Alongside the in-house photo librarian, managing the photographic requirements of the Motor Circuit so that we have a suite of stunning imagery for use on all marketing collateral, both online and offline.  Negotiating and booking relevant print advertising, promotions and reader competitions within relevant, targeted media.  Negotiating and booking relevant outdoor advertising, and radio advertising, including promotions and listener competitions.  With the support of the Digital team, maximise audience reach through various paid for digital techniques, for example SEO, PPC, Facebook advertising and re-targeting.  Together with the Motor Circuit team developing on event promotional opportunities both at Goodwood and off site.  Supporting the PR team to deliver a calendar of engaging stories and content for targeted media.  Supporting the Sales team with timely and appropriate marketing collateral.

Customer Satisfaction

 Monitoring customer satisfaction via the Goodwood Customer Satisfaction dashboard and Tripadvisor reviews, and reviewing customer journeys so that every visit to the Motor Circuit is true to the brand values.

Partners/Agencies

 Supporting the Head of Sports Marketing deliver a first class experience for BMW, with whom we partner for Ultimate Driving experiences. This includes writing monthly Partner Reports, overseeing the regular transfer of data contacts, contributing to monthly meetings and creating presentations and reports.  Building and developing relationships with relevant motoring partners, businesses and community groups to support sales.  Working closely with our agency, Two Circles, to use data-driven Insight to inform marketing planning.  Leveraging media, sponsor, exhibitor and team marketing partnerships to drive sales and create positive brand associations. Research/analysis

 Monitoring daily sales reports, highlighting trends and any potential challenges to the achievement of KPIs.  Managing ad-hoc research projects and customer surveys.  Analysing data and sales reports, when required to support specific projects and initiatives.  Maintaining a close eye on competitors and keeping the Motor Circuit team up to date with pricing and developments.

Other

 From time to time, as required, supporting the work of other marketing executives in the Sports business units.  Undertaking any other duties as required by the Head of Sports Marketing.  On Event: There is a requirement to work during many of Goodwood’s key events. This includes some weekends and Bank Holidays.

What do you need to be successful?

 Educated to degree level. Specific marketing qualification, either at degree or post-grad level an advantage.  At least 2 years’ experience in another marketing role  A passion for customer experience  Word, Excel and PowerPoint proficient.  Quick learner on web based platforms  A can-do attitude and willingness to go the extra mile to make things happen  Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines  A team player with a sense of humour  An interest in Motorsport is an advantage, but not a necessity
