HAMPSHIRE NORTH CIVIL SERVICE SPORTS AREA ASSOCIATION NEWSVIEWS NEW YEAR 2015

Welcome to another year. The rebates and subsidies provided to members in 2014 have proved to be very popular, so we have had to review the amounts we can provide. Your Committee have decided that we want to support as many members as possible, but to do so within the funds available to us we have had to reduce the amounts available, and to impose a maximum amount that any individual member can claim during the year. Subsidies will be limited to a total of £120 per member on all the various options below during 2015.

Theatre and Sporting Events You can claim a full refund (capped at £15) on any theatre visit or sporting event up to 4 per member in a calendar year. You can either claim for 4 theatre visits or 4 sporting events or a combination of theatre and sporting events. These must be claimed within 6 months of the event.

Visitor Attractions You can claim a full refund (capped at £15) to any 4 Visitor Attractions in the UK. Claims must be made within 6 months of the visit.

National Trust Properties You can claim a full refund to any 4 National Trust Properties during the year. (Capped at £15) Claims must be made within 6 months of the visit.

YOU ARE REMINDED THAT CSSC MEMBERS ARE ADMITTED FREE TO ENGLISH HERITAGE PROPERTIES ON PRODUCTION OF YOUR CSSC MEMBERSHIP CARD, SO NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN IF YOU CLAIM FOR VISITING AN ENGLISH HERITAGE PROPERTY.

Sports Centre Discount You can claim 20% off the annual membership fee (capped at £45 per annum) at Basingstoke Sports Centre, Andover Sports Centre or the Riverside Leisure Centre in Winchester.

Slimming Classes/Fitness Classes, etc. You can claim 20% off the cost of these classes (provided you are not also claiming a Sports Centre discount). Again this is capped at £45 per annum. Claims for other activities will be at the discretion of the Committee.

Coach Trips You can claim 50% off the cost of any coach trip organised by a constituent Group within the Area (e.g. Leaway), up to a maximum of 4 trips during the year. The trip organiser will either make a bulk claim, and reflect that in the price charged to members, or you will have to claim individually. The trip organiser will let you know what to do.

Group Holidays Any trips organised by a constituent Group within the Area that include an overnight stay will attract a £10 per night rebate for up to 7 nights during the year. Again the trip organiser will either make a bulk claim and reflect that in the price charged to members, or you will have to claim individually. The trip organiser will let you know what to do.

Any of the above mentioned offers may be withdrawn if there are insufficient funds to pay for them.

Claiming Please remember that all claims must include your CSSC Membership number, proof of purchase and the address where the cheque should be posted. Claims should be sent to Tony Brazier, 29 Warwick Road, Basingstoke, RG23 8DX. Claims may take up to a month to process. Claims are for members only. If you wish to claim for tickets for other people they must be CSSC members and you must quote their membership numbers as well. You should refer to the CSSC website for details of linked membership which explains how non - civil servants can become members and be eligible for discounts. I must remind you that you cannot claim for further discounts from the Area Association if the original cover price has been discounted through your local club (such as Leaway) or through the CSSC On-line shopping link. You should also note that if you did not take advantage of an On-line shopping discount when making a purchase, any local discount will be limited to the amount that you would have saved by using the On-line shopping facility.

NB. When submitting a claim please ensure you pay the correct postage to avoid deduction from your claim.

For National and Regional events members should refer to the Regional Common Subsidy Policy, a copy of which can be found on the Southern Region page on the CSSC website. The Hampshire North Civil Service Sports Area Association Committee have agreed that no further subsidies will be payable over and above those listed below.

International Events Claims for CSSC events held outside the boundaries of the United Kingdom are excluded from the common subsidy policy. However, expenses for any related, qualifying events that are held within the UK may be claimed

National Activity and Training Subsidy Scheme For information on what events are covered under this scheme and the level of subsidy on offer from CSSC please refer to the CSSC website under ‘Subsidy Schemes’. The Area Association will not provide any further subsidy for these events.
