CITY OF ANTIGO COMMON COUNCIL APRIL 16, 2013

Common Council of the City of Antigo met for reorganization on the above date at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Mayor Bill Brandt presiding.

Roll Call – Present: Alderpersons Kapusta, Darling, Kassis, T. Bauknecht, Beck, Dunn, Bugni, Balcerzak, and D. Bauknecht.

Department Managers in attendance were: Mark Desotell, Director of Administrative Services; Kaye Matucheski, Clerk-Treasurer; Eric Roller, Police Chief/Public Safety Director; Robert Piskula, Street Commissioner; James Pike, Communication and Technology Supervisor; and Jerry Wilhelm, Inspector/ Assessor.

Others in attendance were: Jeanne Jensen, Deputy Clerk-Treasurer; Rusty Mehlberg, WACD/WATK Radio; and George Metnik.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by a moment of silent meditation.

Kaye Matucheski, Clerk-Treasurer, administered the oaths of office to Mayor Brandt and Alderpersons Kapusta, Darling, Beck, Bugni, and D. Bauknecht.

Citizen Comments

There were no individuals in attendance wishing to address Council. George Metnik had signed in to address Council but then withdrew the request.

NEW BUSINESS

Election of Council President

Alderperson Darling nominated Alderperson Kassis for Council President.

Alderperson Darling moved, Alderperson Dunn seconded, to close nominations. Carried.

Alderperson Darling moved, Alderperson Balcerzak seconded, to cast a unanimous ballot for Alderperson Kassis as Council President. Carried.

Election of an Alderperson to Serve on City Plan Commission

Alderperson Bugni nominated Alderperson Balcerzak to serve on the City Plan Commission.

Alderperson Kassis moved, Alderperson Darling seconded, to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Alderperson Balcerzak to serve on the City Plan Commission. Carried.

Communications

Proposed Council Rules for 2013-2014 Term

Alderperson Bugni moved, Alderperson Balcerzak seconded, to approve the proposed Council Rules for 2013-2014. Carried.

Mayor – Appointments to Committees, Boards, and Commissions

Alderperson Darling moved, Alderperson Dunn seconded, to approve the Mayor appointments to committees, boards, and commissions. April 16, 2013

Ayes were: Kapusta, Darling, Kassis, T. Bauknecht, Beck, Dunn, Bugni, Balcerzak, and D. Bauknecht. Noes were: None. Carried.

Resolutions

Resolution No. 047-13 re Designation of Official Newspaper

BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council, City of Antigo, that the Antigo Daily Journal

be, and is hereby designated as the official newspaper for the ensuing

year.

Alderperson T. Bauknecht moved, Alderperson Dunn seconded, to approve Resolution No. 047-13. Carried.

Resolution No. 048-13 re Designations of Public Depositories

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL, City of Antigo, that Chase Bank, BMO

Harris Bank, Banner Banks, FirstMerit Bank (Citizens), CoVantage Credit Union,

and Local Government Investment Pool be authorized as the designated public

depositories from the City of Antigo, as identified on the attached resolutions

designating public depositories.

Alderperson Darling moved, Alderperson Bugni seconded, to approve Resolution No. 048-13. Carried.

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS

There was no other business to be considered.
