PL/00145 - Proposed Dormer Bungalow. - Land adjacent to Cartref, Llanfallteg, Whitland, SA34 0UN • Land is opposite public house and access to the pub car park already restricted plus the additional houses down the pub car park entrance will cause additional congestion at an area struggling to cope with the traffic levels, pedestrians and cars leaving the pub all converging in the same area. Additional car parking utilises the area in front of the existing property and the infrastructure already struggles • Car parking spaces on the same side of road as applicant would be compromised • Road network is quite narrow and cars and large tractors struggle to pass through the area, especially when vehicles are parked precari- ously on the opposite side of road outside the pub and houses. • The current access to the single property has a wide visibility splay and the plans cannot accommodate additional traffic volumes, an- other property will at least double the traffic requirement in this area. • Safety, access and infrastructure problems will place the current prop- erty at a worse access position hence pub car park and residents will suffer, pedestrian safety compromised and through traffic be subject to additional risks. • Continuing problems with soakaways and drainage in the village could impact the property • One Councillor abstained in light of evidence and three do not support the application. c. • Welcome to Henllanfallteg
WELCOME TO HENLLANFALLTEG Henllanfallteg is not part of your address and you won't find it on any road signs but since 1935 it has been the official name of the Community you have come to live in. It comprises the villages/communities of Llanfallteg, Henllan Amgoed, Cwmfelin Boeth, Hiraeth, and Rhydywrach. Outside our Community Area you will not find too many people who have heard of it either! Use the village names – they are well known! Postal addresses can be confusing but the vast majority are Whitland SA34, but there are in the western edge a few that are Clynderwen SA66 addresses. Phone numbers equally confusing with the western side mostly 01437 (up to the centre of Llanfallteg) and to the eastern side 01994, Whitland or Llanboidy numbers. The other exchange that borders onto us is 01834 Narberth on the southern side. HENLLANFALLTEG COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION was set up in 1995 and subsequently took on with help from ACCT the construction of The Millennium Hall, with grant money from the National Lottery and Millennium Commission. The Henllanfallteg Community Association has prepared this information for new residents. The Community Association publishes a newsletter every four months and organises functions throughout the year. Most of these take place in the Millennium Hall in Llanfallteg where you also come and vote. To book or enquire about the Millennium Hall, follow the link on the community Web Site or Phone Myrddin Pynn 07747733345 VOTING We are in the West Carmarthen and South Pembrokeshire constituency as far as Parliamentary and Welsh Assembly elections are concerned and we are currently represented by Simon Hart, Constituency Office 15 St John Street, Whitland, SA34 0AN.
