    AAFA ACTION The Official Publication of the Alford American Family Association Winter 1994 Vol. VI, No. 3 President’s Precept e had a VERY successful meeting this year because of the large turn out of Alfords and their families. Much of the credit for the success of Wthe meeting goes to Sally and Dick Stoewer of Baton Rouge and their Louisiana cohorts. We all want to thank them for the effort and time they spent so we could have a very pleasant meeting. At the banquet on Saturday we had over 125 “Alfords.” Murray Alford had the largest Alford clan there with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Thank you Contents very much, Murray, for bringing your children and grandchildren—they are needed as future members to continue our great organization. Others of us need to give our children and grandchildren knowledge about the Alfords and how President’s Precept 1 AAFA can assist them in obtaining knowledge about their Alford ancestors. DOI: https://doi.org/10.25222/larr.300 OTHER ARTS AND HUMANITIES Blackface at the Andean Fiesta: Performing Blackness in the Danza de Caporales Danielle Roper University of Chicago, US [email protected] This study assesses the deployment of blackface in a performance of the Danza de Caporales at La Fiesta de la Virgen de la Candelaria in Puno, Peru, by the performance troupe Sambos Illimani con Sentimiento y Devoción. Since blackface is so widely associated with the nineteenth- century US blackface minstrel tradition, this article develops the concept of “hemispheric blackface” to expand common understandings of the form. It historicizes Sambos’ deployment of blackface within an Andean performance tradition known as the Tundique, and then traces the way multiple hemispheric performance traditions can converge in a single blackface act. It underscores the amorphous nature of blackface itself and critically assesses its role in producing anti-blackness in the performance. Duties of Grand Council. Duties of Grand Council shall be those usually falling to the executive board of a corporation. Grand Council shall: G. Place an initiated member or New Member on probation for conduct or acts injurious, adverse or hostile to Pi Beta Phi and/or its members or in violation of the Pi Beta Phi Constitution and Statutes including the Standards and Policies contained therein or, the Policy and Position Statements or the chapter bylaws. H. Dismiss an initiated member or break the pledge of a New Member for conduct or acts injurious, adverse or hostile to Pi Beta Phi and/or its members or in violation of the Pi Beta Phi Constitution and Statutes including the Standards and Policies contained therein or, the Policy and Position Statements or the chapter bylaws. ARTICLE X – Standards and Policies (page 16) Section 3. Standards of Conduct. Each initiated member and New Member shall be responsible for her own moral conduct, realizing that her actions will reflect either credit or discredit upon her Pi Beta Phi sisters. Conduct or acts injurious, adverse or hostile to Pi Beta Phi and/or its members or in violation of the Pi Beta Phi Constitution and Statutes including the Standards and Policies contained therein or, the Policy and Position Statements or chapter bylaws, may be cause for dismissal or the breaking of a pledge.

    2015 MISS USA® PAGEANT JUDGES INCLUDE FORMER MISS UNIVERSE AND MISS USA WINNERS Pageant Airs Live on REELZ Sunday, July 12 at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT (Albuquerque, NM) Friday, July 10, 2015— REELZ today announced the panel of nine telecast judges for the 2015 MISS USA® Pageant are all former titleholders of the Miss Universe Organization. The announcement comes on the heels of the news that Emmy Award-winning host Todd Newton and former Miss Wisconsin USA 2009 Alex Wehrley will co-host the 2015 MISS USA® Pageant, which airs live on REELZ Sunday, July 12 at 8 p.m. ET and 5 p.m. PT. Country music star and former The Voice contestant Adley Stump will perform as guest vocalist with a live in-house band. Music mogul Master P and his daughter Cymphonique– stars of the upcoming REELZ series Master P’s Family Empire– will make special guest appearances with backstage host OK!TV’s Julie Alexandria during the live telecast. The Panel of Judges Includes: Nana Meriwether – In addition to holding the Miss USA 2012 title, Meriwether is a two-time All-American athlete. She captained UCLA volleyball to the semi-finals and broke three NCAA records in the process. She graduated from UCLA with highest honors and a degree in political science, going on to complete postgraduate pre-med studies at USC. Meriwether was born in South Africa where she grew up in rural villages while her father was a medical missionary. She is the co-founder of the non-profit Meriwether Foundation, which serves the most impoverished sectors in five southern African nations.

    DECONSTRUCTING THE STATUTORY LANDSCAPE OF ªREVENGE PORNº: AN EVALUATION OF THE ELEMENTS THAT MAKE AN EFFECTIVE NONCONSENSUAL PORNOGRAPHY STATUTE Jonathan S. Sales and Jessica A. Magaldi* INTRODUCTION Changes in social mores and technology have yielded the phenomenon of sext- ing, which includes the capturing and forwarding of intimate images through the Internet.1 Research reveals that nearly ®fty percent of adults in the United States have sent or received intimate digital content. 2 At the same time, the con¯uence of these changes has spawned new violations of privacy and predatory actions when these images are made available on the Internet without the subject's consent.3 The re-distribution or dissemination of these intimate images without the consent of the subject and without a legitimate purpose (such as a law enforcement investigation) is referred to as nonconsensual pornography (ªNCPº). 4 NCP has caused victims to suffer substantial harm.5 In some cases, NCP inci- dents have precipitated a victim's suicide.6 Prior generations might have concluded that a person who allowed such images to be captured and placed in the possession of another person assumed the risk of re-distribution; in essence, a negligence, recklessness, or constructive consent argument. In contrast, in the twenty-®rst cen- tury, capturing or sharing of intimate images is often regarded as an acceptable * Jonathan S.
