Included in the class are Meghan Fardelmann (Boston College), John Dooley (Harvard University), and Jessica Wagner (Northeastern University). Dooley will be inducted during a ceremony on January 31 while Fardelmann and Wagner will be honored on February 7. Meghan Fardelmann played a lead role in helping the Eagles to their first Women’s Beanpot titles in 2006 and 2007. A four-year Beanpot participant in the BC Class of 2009, Fardelmann played on the first winning squad in 2006 — scoring the GWG in the opening round and setting up the GW in the final — and then earned Beanpot MVP honors in 2007 when she had five points overall and three goals in the championship game. A native of Lansing, Kansas, she went 6-2-8 in eight Women’s Beanpot games. John Dooley was the third head coach of Harvard Women’s Ice Hockey, serving from 1981 t0 1994. In that time, Dooley’s teams advanced to the championship game 11 times, winning three times (1982, 1983 and 1992).

    ED MEAGHER ARENA UNVEILING NOVEMBER 2013 NEWS RELEASE RENOVATED ED MEAGHER ARENA UNVEILED CONCORDIA STINGERS HIT THE ICE NHL STYLE Montreal, November 20, 2013 — Not only are the Concordia Stingers back on home ice after the reopening of the Ed Meagher Arena, they’re now competing on a brand new rink surface that conforms to National Hockey League specifications. The modernized arena features the latest and most cutting-edge technology on the market today — an eco-friendly carbon dioxide (CO2) ice refrigeration system. The technology, developed in Quebec, means the arena can operate 11 months a year, compared to seven using the former ammonia system. In addition to a new ice surface and boards, fans will appreciate the new heating system; the burning of natural gas has been replaced by recycled heat generated by the new refrigeration system. The renovations – made possible by a joint investment of $7.75 million from the Government of Quebec and Concordia — involved an expansion of 2,500 sq. ft. The new space boasts larger changing rooms, an equipment storage room, and two new changing rooms for soccer and rugby players. Other renovations include window replacements and a new ventilation and dehumidification system. ABOUT THE ED MEAGHER ARENA AND ITS ATHLETES The Ed Meagher Arena plays host to approximately 40 Stingers men’s and women’s hockey games a year. The Concordia hockey players proudly represent the university at an elite level competing against some of the best teams in North America. Over the years, many talented athletes — including Olympians and NHLers — have developed their skills as members of the Stingers or its founding institutions’ teams.

A comprehensive and successful public relations strategy will only be achieved by knowing the objectives that the organization wishes to attain. As such, below we have outlined the recommendations for Vision Zero’s strategic communications goals based on our discussion: 1. Develop an easy-to-understand but relevant message for those living in Cambridge and those who drive through it regarding the need for slower, safer driving. 2. Communicate that Cambridge wants to see ZERO car crashes that result in fatalities or serious bodily harm for those walking and biking in Cambridge. The audience is all who use Cambridge streets, including but not limited to drivers, with the recognition that those who will benefit will most likely be pedestrians and bicyclists. 3.
