Small caring school offering strong academics where students enjoy to work hard – Welcome to Charles Wright Academy. Academics

Charles Wright is a place where it is "cool" to work hard at excelling and where students actively engage in their academic studies. The school is small enough to ensure a student struggling does not "fall through the cracks." The Upper School’s four-year course of study is designed to create well-rounded, passionate, versatile, serious scholars capable of effective communication, sustained work, independent thought and original expression — while they’re having fun. The academic program recognizes and develops individual strengths while building competence in areas of weakness. The CWA philosophy of individually tailored education is emphasized and learning pace and schedule vary with each student. The Upper School program is crafted to introduce each student to a wide spectrum of scholastic endeavors while encouraging and inspiring in-depth studies in fields of major interest. Every student must complete carefully chosen core requirements to graduate, while adding elective courses of special interest or usefulness. CWA graduates go on to some of the best colleges and universities in the nation.

Location

Seattle is one of the most well known cities in the US. In the 1990’s the city became internationally famous for its music scene with a number of world famous bands with Pearl Jam as perhaps the most well known of them all. With an area population of close to two million Seattle is a highly desirable place to live even though the region has more than 200 rain days per year.

Tacoma is located less than an hour from downtown Seattle and has in itself grown to become known as a progressive, international city with a little more than 200,000 inhabitants living there. Sitting at the foot of Mount Rainer, Tacoma really has a lot to offer with ocean beaches along the 66 miles of shoreline many attractive parks, as well as a world-class zoo and aquarium.
