Camner Language and Performing Arts Center (built thanks to the generosity of donors in the school community; it cost $14 million to build). Teacher Profile 71% of faculty has taught at the school for more than 5 years, with 41% having been at the school for more than 10 years. • David Adams teaches U.S., European and Middle Eastern History at Charles Wright Academy, and is the History Department Co-Chair. Mr. Adams graduated from both the University of Washington and Western Washington University with bachelor’s degrees, and obtained his master’s degree and PhD in history from the University of Utah. Dr. Adams has been working at Charles Wright Academy since 1998, and also helps lead students as part of the Outdoor Education Program. His two children attend the school as well. • Ann Vogel provides international students with academic support (particularly in writing for English and history classes), recruits host families, serves as liaison between the school, host parents, and natural parents, provides a cultural transition program, and works on international admissions. International Student Profile/Success Story Jin Won Yune from South Korea, graduated from Charles Wright Academy in 2009, after taking the schools most advanced math and science courses, and performing independent study projects with several teachers. He went on to MIT, where he graduated in the Class of 2013. His math teacher Howard Wouters said of him: “Very few mathematics students at the high school level are problem solvers… Ji Won, however, is an exception. I am convinced that he is destined to become a mathematician of distinction.”

Student Awards and Honors In the spring of 2016 65% of sophomores, 51% of juniors, and 87% of seniors took at least 1 AP Exam. 84% of Charles Wright students who took an AP exam passed the exam with a 3 or higher earning college credit. In 2016 a total of 80 Charles Wright students, members of the Classes of 2016 and 2017, were honored with AP Scholar Awards for high scores on multiple tests. 9 Charles Wright students were named National AP Scholars by having an average score of at least 4 on all exams taken and scored 4 or above on 8 or more exams.
