My sincerest congratulations to the 1956 graduating class. It is my hope that with a great deal of pride. Now, more than ever before, there is a need for educational achievement. Certainly the attainment of a high school diploma is a step toward that achievement. The diploma itself is not a measuring stick of success. The student receiving the diploma is the product that will determine how valuable his high school education is to him. It is initiative and ambition added to acquired knowledge that will determine success. Kenneth L. Miller, Principal May all of you be an asset to the community in which you live. 66 ACTIVITIES Freshman Initiation

The first week of school is a sorry one for the Fresh- men. Seniors obligingly dob their faces with lip- stick, shampoo hair with eggs and any other obnox- ious thing they can think of to do to the helpless Fresh- men. But then, in just four years they will have their day.
