In 1958, the wreckage was purchased by Dr. E. Tom Jenifer Weiman Ruhle, a dentist from West Allis, Wisconsin, for $600.00. International Aerobatic Club CHAPTER 38 January 2010 Newsletter PREZ POST Happy New Years! First of all, I would like to welcome everyone to 2010. It seems like each year goes by faster and faster. 2009 was a very difficult year for the economy, aerobatic community, Quisque .03 and air show industry. Like many of you, I’m looking forward to a much brighter year. The economy seems to be turning around, aircraft are starting to trade hands, and camps are starting to get scheduled. Unlike the rest of the country, the Bay Area weather has been rather calm, Cory Lovell allowing many of us the opportunity to get in a few practice President, Ch 38 sessions. I’ve also talked to several members who are taking the winter months to change out radios, upgrade engines, and fix the little things kept getting pushed out because of a contest. Integer .05 Continued on Page 2………. Issue [#]: [Issue Date] Continued from Page 1……. As you may have noticed, this is the first newsletter in a couple of months. With the unfortunate loss of Che Barnes and the retirement of Peter Jensen, we did not have anyone come forward to help with the Newsletter (we’re still looking for a couple volunteers). 2009 was also a crazy year for me, hence the fact I haven’t been able to get out a newsletter. I left my job in September to travel to Spain, then over to Germany of Oktoberfest. I also took some time to put together a website for Sukhoi Aerobatics and spend some time doing formation aerobatics training with Bill Stein and Russ Piggott.

MDT - Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division Vol. 59 No. 8 August 2008 Browning/Starr School Airport Greatly Appreciated On June 30, the MDT Aeronautics Division hosted the Browning Airport Appreciation Day at the Browning/Starr School Airport. The event was well attended by local residents, many Blackfeet Tribal dignitaries and officials, members of the MDT Aeronautics Division and several people who flew in just for the festivities. Jim Lynch, director of the Montana Department of Transportation served as emcee. The event opened with a traditional Blackfeet prayer and the playing of drums, followed by several speeches. To top it off, the grill was opened and some of the world’s best hamburgers, brats and hot dogs were served to the hungry attendees. The Browning/Starr School airport is a small, paved, general aviation airport that is owned and operated by the MDT Aeronautics Division. IDWEST FLYER M AGAZINE AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2017 Published For & By The Midwest Aviation Community Since 1978 midwestflyer.com AOPA Takes Issue with Trump’s ATC Plan On June 5 President Donald Trump characterized U.S. air traffic control as being “an ancient, broken, horrible system that doesn’t work” during his remarks calling for privatization. These comments were surprising given the fact that the American system handles orders of magnitude more traffic than any other in the world at efficiency and safety levels and costs per operation that are second to none. While AOPA is open to proposals aimed at making the air traffic control system more efficient and delivering technology in a timely and cost-effective manner, we have consistently said we will not support policies that impose user fees on general aviation. Additionally, we are also concerned about the impact of these proposed reforms on general aviation based on what we have seen in other countries. As a 2016 study by Delta Airlines said, “nations that have privatized ATC have seen operational costs increase at a much higher rate than has been seen in the US under the FAA.” We will continue to work with the administration and members of Congress including the General Aviation Caucus to protect the freedom to fly and ensure that safety, access, and costs are protected and addressed.
