Meet Sarah Cowley (NZ London Olympics Women’s Heptathlon Representative) As well as some pre‐ arranged functions Sarah will be at the ground over the weekend presenting medals, she may do some film crew interviews and we can also arrange for Sarah to visit your tent for a chat for a few minutes. Dunedin Taxi Shuttles Details of how you can get from the airport to Dunedin (return) at discounted rates are posted on the NZSSAA web site http://nzssaa.org.nz/static/nz‐tf‐2012/airport‐shuttle‐service.pdf Cadbury Tours Discount vouchers for Cadbury World tours will be in athlete packs. Pre‐booking a tour is essential. You will receive your discount on presentation of your voucher. Go to http://www.cadburyworld.co.nz/tour for details about Cadbury’s World. Subway Subway discount vouchers will be in your pack. Please refer to these for details. The Dunedin and Mosgiel stores participating that are participating in this promotion are listed on you voucher. University of Otago – New Zealand’s National School of Physical Education Talk and Tour bookings are filling up fast and consideration of scheduling additional tours is underway. Details are posted on the NZSSAA website http://nzssaa.org.nz/static/nz‐tf‐2012/tour‐flyer.pdf . A University of Otago display tent will be at the Caledonian Ground during the weekend for anyone to drop in and talk to them. During the weekend you might have time to read information from the University which will be in your packs Otago Polytechnic The Otago Polytechnic will also have a display tent during the weekend in the Caledonian Ground. Their School of Sport and Adventure will be moving early next year to new premises in the old art gallery building which you will see while in the warm up area. It looks like a construction site at the moment but once completed it will be a perfect location to study sport and adventure. During the weekend you might have time to read information from the Polytech which will be in your packs Forsyth Barr Stadium We have had many requests from all over the country to see the ‘Stadium.’ Thanks to Dunedin Venues; guided tours will be available at a pay on the day cost of $2.00 per person on: Friday 7 December 9am to 10am Saturday 8 December 9am to 10am Sunday 9 December 11.30am to 12.30pm Bookings for the tours can be made at [email protected] Unipol Tours Directly in front of Forsyth Barr Stadium is the University Plaza building which has a café and the Unipol Recreation Centre. The Recreation Centre was built as part of the stadium development and is available to tertiary students. Their website is under development but some details can be found at: http://www.unipol.co.nz/ To compliment stadium tours Unipol are also providing tours of their outstanding fitness centre at the following times: Friday 7 December 10am to 11am Saturday 8 December 10am to 11am Sunday 9 December 12.30pm to 1.30pm Bookings for the tours can be made at [email protected] Moana Pool Need a relaxing swim. Moana Pool has an athlete 2 for one deal available during the Championship weekend. Vouchers will be found in your packs. Medical Services A medical service is available during the Championship weekend. Entry to their rooms will be from the rear of the grandstand at the finish line end. Details are already posted on the NZSSAA website http://nzssaa.org.nz/static/nz‐tf‐2012/medical‐coverage.pdf Sports Massage Services A sports massage service tent will be in the ground. A fee per minute will be charged for this service. Medal Engraving An engraving service will be available during the weekend if you would like to have your medals engraved. A small charge for this service will apply. School Tent Sites Remember if you want a tent site you need to book your space with [email protected] The tent site for schools is situated outside the ground directly behind the grandstand in the warm up area. To allocate space we require your bookings as soon as possible. Other things you might be interested in: Otago Farmers Market – Saturday Morning Produce direct from Otago farms and businesses are on sale on Saturday morning from the market held in the Railway Station car park, just under three kilometers away from Logan Park. A wide range of produce, food and drinks are available. Details can be found at: http://www.otagofarmersmarket.org.nz/ Stadium Market ‐ Sunday 10am to 2pm Another market is held at the harbour end of Forsyth Barr Stadium in the ODT stand on Sunday. The Road Race Championships will be going through the car park area for the market. This is run independently from the farmers market and has a wide range of items on sale. Details of the Stadium Markets can be found at: http://www.stadiummarket.co.nz/ Dunedin Visitors Centre The visitors centre is the place to go to find out what else you can do, see, eat or book in Dunedin. With two graduations on Saturday the 8th finding a restaurant to eat at without prior booking may prove difficult. MANGERS MEETING / NZSSAA AGM The managers meeting for those who are able to be there will begin at 11:00 am on Fri 30 Nov with the NZSSAA AGM to follow and completed by 12.30 pm. Team mangers are asked to make themselves available for these meetings if possible. EXAMINATIONS Information on what to do in the event of athletes needing to sit an exam in Dunedin is in a separate document on the website. If athletes have a clash on Friday afternoon, please let John Tylden [email protected] know as soon as possible so that alternative arrangements can be made for qualifying after the athlete’s examination is over.
