A representative from Barcelona City Council will unveil a plaque in the house where Schoenberg composed his opera Moses und Aaron.

Visit the Gerhard exhibition at Biblioteca de Catalunya and the Library Kindly sponsored by Biblioteca de Catalunya

Benvolgut Robert Gerhard

From the 11th of April until the 10th of May, the Biblioteca de Catalunya will be presenting an exhibition on Roberto Gerhard. The composer was working at the Music Department from 1934 until 1939 and he edited La Merope by Domènec Terradelles and the Six Quintets by Antoni Soler. The exhibition will include letters and scores from different archives, like , Higini Anglès, Conxita Badía, Frederic Mompou, Josep Valls and Joaquim Homs archives, among others.

After the exhibition library staff will present a guided tour.

Visit to Valls, visiting the places linked with Roberto Gerhard and visit to the Robert Gerhard archive, and to the exhibition at Institut d’Estudis Vallencs (IEV). Kindly sponsored by Institut d’Estudis Vallencs.

Staff from IEV will show the places linked with Gerhard (birthplace, casa dels mics, Teatre principal, etc).

From 20th until 27th of April, Institut d’Estudis Vallencs will present an exhibition on Roberto Gerhard. The composer was born in Valls in 1896 and his first compositions date from this place. In the exhibition there are some letters, music manuscripts and photographs from Roberto Gerhard

After seeing the exhibition the delegates will have access to the Roberto Gerhard archive in the IEV, and staff from this instritution will explain how to access and the specific characteristics of the collection.
