SD 28 Dennis Lithicum - R IEP: July 21, Salem

Former Klamath County Commissioner. Lived in Klamath Falls for twenty years. Earned a B.A. in Economics from UCLA and a Master's Degree from Biola University. Currently serves as a teacher and speaker for the Dirt Road Economist and provides training on constitutional principles throughout Oregon and California. Was a Senior VP of Management Information Systems. Work history revolves around software and large-scale database development. While in California and Oregon, contributed technical and managerial expertise across many fields: defense, micro-electronic circuits, semiconductor manufacturing, real estate data-processing and large-scale life insurance portfolio management.

HD 20 Laura Morett – R IEP: July 6, Salem

Family owns a small business, Morett Construction. Laura worked at a local law firm at State Farm Insurance in Salem. Later worked at Oregon Capitol in the lobby message center. In 2009 Laura was invited to participate on the CBS show Survivor. Active in community. Knows a lot about insurance.

HD 22 Patti Milne – R IEP: June 30, Salem

Served in the Oregon State Legislature from 1993 through 1998 before taking office as Marion County Commissioner in 1999 through the end of her service in 2014. At the legislature, she chaired the House Human Resources Committee and the Subcommittee on Education, chaired the Task Force on Hispanic and Migrant Affairs, and served as Majority Whip in 1995. Elected to the Woodburn School District Board of Directors, serving from 1988-1992 and has served on several local boards including the Marion County Education Service District Budget Committee and acting as co-chair of the Law Enforcement Committee of the Community Gang Forum. Her community service includes membership in the Woodburn Rotary Club where she is a past president. She is a member of the Woodburn and Salem Chambers of Commerce, and she is the former Chair as well as vice-chair of the Oregon Garden Foundation Board.

HD 24 – R IEP: July 14, McMinnville

Served as Chief of Police for the City of McMinnville from 2006 to 2014. Lived in the Willamette Valley for over forty-two years. Involved at Church on the Hill and McMinnville Praise Assembly. Elected 2013- 2014 president of the Oregon Association of Chiefs of Police, and as a Board Member of Crisis Chaplaincy Services.

HD 26 Richard Vial – R IEP: July 25, Wilsonville

Rich Vial first worked with a prominent law firm in downtown Portland and became a specialist in community law, having worked for the condominium section of the Oregon Real Estate Division during law school. Formed his own firm, Vial Fortheringham LLP, with emphasis on supporting condominium and planned communities. Served as Chair, Washington County Planning Commission; Clean Water Services Advisory Committee; Washington County Land-Use Advisory Committee; Chair, Groner School Board; Chair, Washington County Fair; and Board member of Washington County Farm Bureau. Owns a large farm in Scholls. Large family through adoption. Has testified at the Oregon legislature in favor of including insurance companies in the UTPA.

HD 27 Sheri Malstrom – D IEP: June 20, Washington Square

Sheri Malstrom has more than 30 years of experience as a public health nurse. Her expertise led her to be appointed by the Governor to the Oregon Commission on Women. A resident of Washington County her whole life. Became a single mom of three boys when her husband passed away.

HD 30 – D IEP: July 6, Hillsboro

Janeen Sollman served on the Hillsboro School Board since 2009 and as Board Chair from 2011-2013. Served on several committees, including the Budget, Audit, and Superintendent Evaluation committees, as well as the Career and College Pathways Steering Committee. As an active volunteer, Sollman has been a long-time advocate for her community. She has helped homebound seniors with Meals on Wheels, assisted homeless families with the Washington County Project Homeless Connect, and served as a committed volunteer in local schools. Works for Vernier Software & Technology, an education software company based in Washington County.

HD 32 Bruce Bobek – R IEP: June 30, Hillsboro

Dr. Bobek opened his own clinic in Warrenton in 1992. In 1994, while practicing in Warrenton, he started became active in public service by successfully running for Warrenton City Commissioner. Bruce served on the Warrenton City Commissioner for four years and helped build the Warrenton Library, establish the Warrenton Wetlands Plan, and develop the Warrenton Business Association. In 1999, Dr. Bobek moved back to Astoria and opened Angel Medical. Earlier in his life, he became a respiratory therapist after studying at the University of Chicago.

HD 40 Evon Tekorius – R IEP: June 28, Gresham

Evon Tekorius is currently serving her second year on the Oregon City School Board, and prior to that had served on their budget committee. She and her husband, Paul began Teknical Associates Inc., a fire and explosives investigation firm after he retired from Clackamas County Sheriffs. The firm does work for the insurance industry as well as others. Evon graduated from Portland State University and worked for many years in non-profit management. Evon is a lifelong resident of Clackamas County.

HD 43 – D IEP: July 8, Lloyd Center

Born of Shoshone-Bannock, Ute, and Carrizo descent, Tawna Sanchez grew up in Portland. She has received a Bachelor’s of Arts from Marylhurst University and a Masters in Social Work from Portland State University. Helped co-found the Native American Youth and Family (NAYA) Center and today is the Family Services Director and Interim Executive Director of the organization, which has a $10 million annual budget and employs 120 people. Prior to joining NAYA, she was a domestic violence advocate at the Bradley Angle House. Tawna is the founder of a nationally recognized Native American domestic violence intervention and prevention program that has successfully served thousands of Native American families. Tawna has been active at the state level as well, serving on the Oregon Domestic and Sexual Violence Advisory Board.

HD 51 Lori Chavez-DeRemer – R IEP: June 20, Gresham

Lori Chavez-DeRemer served on the Happy Valley City Council where she served as the council president and was elected Mayor in 2010 and 2014. She is very involved in the community through numerous organizations including the Happy Valley Business Alliance; North Clackamas Chamber - Public Policy; Clackamas County Business Alliance; Clackamas Community College Bond Campaign; Friends of Happy Valley Police Levy Campaign; Clackamas Rotary. She and her husband are co- founders of Anesthesia Associates Northwest, LLC.

HD 51 – D July 15, Gresham

Janelle Bynum earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Today, Janelle and her husband, Mark, live in Happy Valley and operate a small business, running two restaurants in that community.
