Born on April 4, 1920 in South Ockendon, Robert John Bush worked hard to win a scholarship to the Grammar School at Grays, and later won a place at medical school to become a doctor. He married Hannah Bush in early 1943. Together they had three children: John Carder Bush (1944), Paddy Bush (1952) and Kate (1958). His voice can be heard in the song The Fog, in the extended version of The Big Sky (The Meteorological Mix) and also among the voices calling to the heroine of The Ninth Wave between the songs Under Ice and Waking The Witch. KT Bush Band. Band formed in 1977 by Brian Bath, Vic King, Del Palmer and Kate Bush. After practicing in Greenwich and East Wickham Farm, they made their live debut in April 1977 at the Rose Of Lee in Lewisham. The set list consisted of standards like Come Together, 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine', 'Tracks Of My Tears', but also early versions of Kate Bush songs like James And The Cold Gun, Saxophone Song and Them Heavy People. During the summer of 1977 the band played various venues in and around London, a grand total of 20 gigs. When Kate Bush started recording her debut album The Kick Inside, she actually recorded versions of 'Them Heavy People' and 'James And The Cold Gun' at De Wolfe Studios in London with the KT Bush Band, but in the end, the band members were not used for the album recordings.

    KATE BUSH L’AERIENNE… "I'm a songwriter, not a personality and I find it difficult to talk about my songs sometimes. In a way, they speak for themselves and the subjects or inspirations can be so personal or just seem ridiculous when spoken about." (Kate Bush, KBC magazine, 1987) Auteur-compositeur-interprète de talent, Kate Bush est surtout connue pour sa voix fort expressive (qui couvre largement 4 octaves !), ses paroles de portée littéraire et/ou imaginaire ainsi que par son style musical aventureux et ses productions méticuleuses. Depuis ses débuts discographiques en 1978 (avec le hit "wuthering heights", qui resta numéro 1 dans les charts britanniques durant 4 semaines), elle compte un nombre considérable de fans fidèles de part le monde. Tout le monde (ou presque…) a déjà entendu au moins une fois "babooshka" ou "running up that hill", deux singles qui ont littéralement cassés la baraque à leur sortie. The song is about the destruction of Aboriginal homelands by white Australians in their quest for weapons-grade uranium. The original title for the track was 'The Abo Song', which unwittingly made use of a racial slur. Promotional 12" copies bearing this title were circulated before being recalled. Formats. 'The Dreaming' was released as a 7" single only. The B-side was Dreamtime. 'The Dreaming' was covered by Big City Orchestre. Kate about 'The Dreaming' We started with the drums, working to a basic Linn drum machine pattern, making them sound as tribal and deep as possible. This song had to try and convey the wide open bush, the Aborigines - it had to roll around in mud and dirt, try to become a part of the earth. "Earthy" was the word used most to explain the sounds. There was a flood of imagery sitting waiting to be painted into the song. The Aborigines move away as the digging machines move in, mining for ore and plutonium. Their sacred grounds are destroyed and their beliefs in Dreamtime grow blurred through the influence of civilization and alcohol. Beautiful people from a most ancient race are found lying in the roads and gutters. Thank God the young Australians can see what's happening. The piano plays sparse chords, just to mark every few bars and the chord changes.
