Tournament Dates The 6th World Kuo Shu Championship Tournament will be held in Hunt Valley, Maryland, United States of America on July 27-29, 2018. This event is sponsored by the United States Kuo Shu Federation (USKSF) and co-sponsored by the International Contact Weapon Sport Federation (ICWSF). This event is sanctioned by The World Kuo Shu Federation (TWKSF). 2. Competition Rules and Regulations All events will be developed and conducted under the Official TWKSF Competition Regulations. (See www.twksf.org/tournaments/tournament-rules/ for full disclosure of TWKSF regulations.) 3. Medical Requirements for Lei Tai Competitors All Lei Tai competitors must submit required medical consent documents signed and dated no more than 30 days prior to the tournament as well as a completed waiver form. (More details and downloadable forms are available on the TWKSF website at https://twksf.org/tournaments/tournament-rules/.) 4. Team Registration (for team scoring events #1-26, #112-115 and lei tai) Each participating country must submit ONE (1) Official Competitors List. NOTE: This form is NOT the registration form! The Official Competitors List must be submitted via email to [email protected] no later than March 31, 2018. Only competitors listed on the Official Competitors List for the participating country may compete in world tournament team scoring events. 5. Registration Process Official Competitor Lists received by the TWKSF will be processed to provide the competitors with unique access codes for competition. Access codes will be sent via email to competitors no later than April 30, 2018. Competitors on the Official Competitors List must have their unique access code to register online for competition or submit a paper registration form. Registrations must be completed by the deadline shown in Section 7 (Registration Fees). Please note, online registration is preferred! Registration is not complete until the registration fees are paid in full. 6. Registration Fees All competitors listed on the Official Competitors List must have registration fees paid in full prior to competition. According to TWKSF regulations, if a registered competitor is not present at competition, registration fees will not be refunded and must still be paid in full. The registration fee for the tournament will be US $85.00 for one event and US $20.00 for each additional event. Competitors with active TWKSF and/or USKSF memberships will receive a discount of US $20.00. 7. Registration Deadline The Registration Deadline for world championship competition events with team scoring in the 6th World Kuo Shu Championship Tournament will be on July 10, 2018 (11:59 PM EST) with no exceptions. The online registration deadline for open competition events in the US International Kuo Shu Championship Tournament will be on July 26, 2018. 8. Competition Awards Competitors in all world championship competition events (lei tai and forms divisions) will be awarded with TWKSF medals and official certificates for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Plaques will also be awarded to the national teams finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in lei tai and forms competition. An overall Grand Champion Team award will be presented as well as awards for the best overall male and female competitors. 9. Accommodations Hotel accommodations will be available at a discounted rate prior to the tournament. These reservations will be first come, first served. The deadline for requesting accommodations at the tournament site is June 30, 2018. Additional accommodation suggestions will be provided by TWKSF as needed. For more information, go to the TWKSF website. 10. Transportation Transportation to and from Baltimore-Washington International Airport will be provided by TWKSF for all international teams. The deadline for transportation requests is June 30, 2018. You may choose to make your own transportation arrangements at your own expense. (For more information, go to the TWKSF website.) 11. Tournament Banquet At the conclusion of the tournament, on July 29, 2018, a banquet and celebration will be held at the tournament site (including food, music, and dancing). The cost to attend the banquet is US $70.00 per Adults (age 18 and over) and $50.00 per Child. Each team must include a list of those attending and pay for banquet tickets when registering for the competition. 12. National Flags All delegations are required to submit 2 (two) 3’x5’ flags of their country, to be used in the opening ceremonies and during the tournament. Delegations’ flags will be returned at the end of the tournament. 13. TWKSF Ranking Tournament competitors and officials may apply for official TWKSF ranking and be recognized formally during the tournament. Ranking applications must be submitted directly to the headquarters of TWKSF by May 31, 2018. (Ranking application forms are available from the TWKSF website at https://twksf.org/join-us/ranking-certification-2/.) 14.
