What do you do? 1. Position your hips onto his left thigh as you step with your left leg into a horse stance at about 8:00. As you thrust your hip onto his thigh by lowering your weight, punch upward at an angle with both hands, this will cause distance between the opponent and will loosen his grip as you wedge his hands over as you duck your head. 2. After you have freed your hands, execute a right elbow strike to his solar plexus or chin (if he leans in with you). 3. Then execute a hammer fist strike to the groin with your right hand and then grab his groin (or pant leg). 4. Backward c-step with your right leg behind your opponents left leg. 5. Right elbow strike to the chin, ripping his groin upward as you execute your elbow strike and follow through until he is bent over your right leg. (This will cause pain and will cause your opponent to fall backwards). 6. Hammer fist strike with your left hand as your opponent falls (this must be done quickly so it must be executed very soon after the elbow; about a ½ count, you don’t want to slow down his fall backwards). LEE’S KENPO KARATE HEADLOCK A, B, C What they do: You are grabbed in a headlock on your left side with both of you facing the same direction (remember the techniques are the same if you and your opponents are facing different directions except you might have to do them left handed so make sure you can do this on both sides and facing different directions). What do you do? Headlock A: 1. Step forward about 11:00 with your right foot and duck your chin as close to your chest as possible (remember to get your neck in the bend of his elbow and get your head loose or you could twist your own neck, NOT Good!). Execute a double hammer fist strike to the groin and to the kidney at the same time. 2. Grab your opponent’s hair or left shoulder with your left hand and pull him backwards. 3. Right hand punches up through your opponent’s hands and pull your punch away from your opponent at the top of punch to break the hold. 4. Pull the attacker backwards over your left leg. Right hammer fist to his solar plexus as he falls back like in rising elbow. Headlock B: 1. Step forward about 11:00 with your right foot and duck your chin as close to your chest as possible (remember to get your neck in the bend of his elbow and get your head loose or you could twist your own neck, NOT Good!). 2. Drop your weight onto your right knee as you pivot left. This will cause the opponent to bend his legs more due to your fallen weight and will expose his groin more. 3. Right handed ridge hand to the groin (his legs are like a funnel, just find the inside of a leg and ride it up, you will find it). Headlock C: 1. Step backwards with your left foot about 7:00 and drop your weight onto your left knee while executing a ridge hand to his groin with your left hand. LEE’S KENPO KARATE DANCER What they do: The opponent grabs you from behind by the shoulders or with a double hand choke. What do you do? 1. Step back like in Crash of the Eagle. 2. Right hand chops to the groin as your feet are crossed. 3. Pivot right and duck your head under their arms as your circle around to the right (very important). 4. Execute a left handed ridge hand to the groin about a ½ count after the chop in step 2. 5. Continue another full circle rotation after the last strike and finish at about 7:00 from where you started and about wheel kick distance behind your opponent into a fighting stance (wheel kick to the head is optional). LEE’S KENPO KARATE CRASHING ELBOW What they do: The opponent swings at you with a right hand punch. What do you do? 1. Left inward block as you step to a horse stance with your left foot at 11:00. 2. Right handed horizontal elbow strike to ribs as you pivot left into a forward bow. 3. Right handed back fist to the floating ribs or temple as you pivot right into a horse stance or soft bow. LEE’S KENPO KARATE DIVIDED SWORDS What they do: Your opponent executes a right handed punch. What do you do? 1. Step to a forward stance at 11:00 with your left foot and block his punch with an inward forearm block as you pivot to a soft bow. 2. Pivot right to a forward bow and execute an elbow strike to your opponent’s rib area. 3. Pivot back to a soft bow and execute a double chop (palms facing each other and about 18 inches apart) to his neck and floating rib. LEE’S KENPO KARATE GIFT What they do: The attacker grabs you with a handshake or wrist grab with his right hand to your right hand or wrist. What do you do? 1. As you step to 12:00 into a horse stance pull your opponent’s hand to your right side straightening his elbow. 2. Execute an upward (45 degree) inward block to the elbow. 3. Move your right foot behind your left leg to about 8:00 (hidden foot) as you pivot to the right (make sure you keep their right hand on your side and stay close) and lowering your weight throwing your attacker down on his stomach (keep a hold of his right hand as you do this). 4. As you hold his hand, throw a left downward front snap kick, over your opponent’s arm and down to the head (opponent will look up and you will kick his head into the ground). .
