LEE’S KENPO KARATE

RISING ELBOW

What they do: Someone sneaks up behind you and grabs you In a bear hug with your arms pinned (Above your elbows).

What do you do?

1. Position your hips onto his left thigh as you step with your left leg into a horse stance at about 8:00. As you thrust your hip onto his thigh by lowering your weight, upward at an angle with both hands, this will cause distance between the opponent and will loosen his grip as you wedge his hands over as you duck your head.

2. After you have freed your hands, execute a right elbow to his solar plexus or chin (if he leans in with you).

3. Then execute a hammer fist strike to the groin with your right hand and then grab his groin (or pant leg).

4. Backward c-step with your right leg behind your opponents left leg.

5. Right elbow strike to the chin, ripping his groin upward as you execute your elbow strike and follow through until he is bent over your right leg. (This will cause pain and will cause your opponent to fall backwards).

6. Hammer fist strike with your left hand as your opponent falls (this must be done quickly so it must be executed very soon after the elbow; about a ½ count, you don’t want to slow down his fall backwards).

HEADLOCK A, B, C

What they do:

You are grabbed in a headlock on your left side with both of you facing the same direction (remember the techniques are the same if you and your opponents are facing different directions except you might have to do them left handed so make sure you can do this on both sides and facing different directions). What do you do? Headlock A: 1. Step forward about 11:00 with your right foot and duck your chin as close to your chest as possible (remember to get your neck in the bend of his elbow and get your head loose or you could twist your own neck, NOT Good!). Execute a double hammer fist strike to the groin and to the kidney at the same time.

2. Grab your opponent’s hair or left shoulder with your left hand and pull him backwards.

3. Right hand punches up through your opponent’s hands and pull your punch away from your opponent at the top of punch to break the hold.

4. Pull the attacker backwards over your left leg. Right hammer fist to his solar plexus as he falls back like in rising elbow. Headlock B: 1. Step forward about 11:00 with your right foot and duck your chin as close to your chest as possible (remember to get your neck in the bend of his elbow and get your head loose or you could twist your own neck, NOT Good!).

2. Drop your weight onto your right as you pivot left. This will cause the opponent to bend his legs more due to your fallen weight and will expose his groin more.

3. Right handed ridge hand to the groin (his legs are like a funnel, just find the inside of a leg and ride it up, you will find it). Headlock C:

1. Step backwards with your left foot about 7:00 and drop your weight onto your left knee while executing a ridge hand to his groin with your left hand.

LEE’S KENPO KARATE DANCER

What they do:

The opponent grabs you from behind by the shoulders or with a double hand choke.

What do you do? 1. Step back like in Crash of the Eagle.

2. Right hand chops to the groin as your feet are crossed.

3. Pivot right and duck your head under their arms as your circle around to the right (very important).

4. Execute a left handed ridge hand to the groin about a ½ count after the chop in step 2.

5. Continue another full circle rotation after the last strike and finish at about 7:00 from where you started and about wheel distance behind your opponent into a fighting stance (wheel kick to the head is optional).
