Britain First (BF) er et britisk politisk parti og en bevegelse på ytre høyre, som har gjort seg bemerket med sine anti- islamske aktiviteter rettet mot Storbritannias muslimer. I tillegg til å kalle seg patrioter og stolte islamofober definerer BF seg som kristne. Denne foreningen av kristne og anti-islamske holdninger er bakgrunnen for å undersøke hvilken rolle kristendom og islam spiller i BFs verdensbilde. Oppgaven drøfter også på hvilken måte kristne forestillinger og symboler påvirker BFs forestillinger om islam, samt andre sentrale temaer for BF, som nasjonen og forestillinger om britiskhet. For å finne ut av dette har jeg analysert et rikt materiale. Primærkildene omfatter blant annet et stort antall videoer, innlegg, bilder og tekster produsert av BF. Materialet inkluderer også et kort feltarbeid med observasjon av én av BFs offentlige aktiviteter. Oppgaven kan blant annet sees som et argument mot en tendens til å avskrive kristendommens posisjon i bevegelser på ytre høyre i Vest-Europa som noe instrumentelt, som kun har til hensikt å markere avstand til islam. En religionsvitenskapelig/religionshistorisk analyse av sentrale temaer viser at i BFs tilfelle, utgjør kristendom en bærebjelke i BFs verdensbilde, praksis og selvforståelse. BFs lederskap mener for eksempel at de er utvalgt av Gud til å lede BF. BF trekker også veksler på Bibelen og Jesus for å gi næring og legitimitet til eget verdensbilde og praksis. De bedriver kristen misjon rettet mot muslimer, tar i bruk hvitmalte trekors under sine aktiviteter, tror på en kommende apokalypse med religiøse tilsnitt, og refererer aktivt til middelalderens korstog. Oppgaven drøfter også flere aspekter ved BFs holdninger til islam og muslimer, med utgangspunkt i temaer som blant annet BFs forestillinger om jihad og en islamsk overtakelse av Vesten, og BFs syn på Profeten Muhammed, Allah, sharia, moskeer, halalslakt og halalnæringsmidler. Oppgaven viser også at BF oppfatter islam og muslimer som en eksistensiell trussel, og hvordan BFs kristendomsforståelse gir legitimitet til BFs anti- islamske aktiviteter og forestillinger. Kristendom utgjør også en viktig komponent i BFs nativistiske verdensanskuelse, der BF lar seg inspirere av en moderne hvit-makt-fortolkning av kristendommen, hvor det å leve med «sine egne» står sentralt.     TELLING THE TRUTH White Presbyterians and Race in the 20th Century SOUTHERN (PRESBYTERIAN) CONSERVATISM Southern Presbyterian conservatives—those who would eventually form the PCA—linked together anti-Communism, anti-integration, and anti-centralization, utilizing religious beliefs and language to bind these together into a coherent worldview. These three values animated modern political conservatism in the 1950s and 1960s; hence, the founders of the PCA were central to the rising political American conservative movement In this, they stood as bedrock for the new Religious Right and helped to shift the South to the Republican Party in the 1980s and beyond. For our purposes, the tragedy came as their commitment to racial separation trumped their commitment to the Gospel. DEFENDING THE SOUTHERN (SEGREGATED) WAY OF LIFE ❖ Barring African Americans from worship services ❖ After Brown v. Board in 1954, churches and church courts announced that they would maintain themselves on a segregated basis (Lucas, 122). ❖ During the 1960s kneel-ins, churches patrolled their doorways to prevent blacks from worshiping/ sitting intermixed with whites (Lucas, 196-7; Strong, “Holy Week”). ❖ In the 1969, during the Black Manifesto crisis, churches gave specific instructions on what to do in case a black person tried to enter. ❖ The presumption was that any group of blacks or mixed race group was there for “sociological” purposes and thus should not be admitted. DEFENDING THE SOUTHERN (SEGREGATED) WAY OF LIFE ❖ Misusing and twisting the Bible to support segregation ❖ Repeatedly from the 1950s through the early 1970s, southern Presbyterian conservatives attempt to craft “biblical” defenses of segregation (Lucas, 115-6; Richards, 55-57; Smith).

    Identitarian movement The identitarian movement (otherwise known as Identitarianism) is a European and North American[2][3][4][5] white nationalist[5][6][7] movement originating in France. The identitarians began as a youth movement deriving from the French Nouvelle Droite (New Right) Génération Identitaire and the anti-Zionist and National Bolshevik Unité Radicale. Over the past two years, the committee has made strides toward fulfilling this mandate. The 45th General Assembly assisted the committee significantly by approving our plan to utilize LifeWay Research Services in order to survey current attitudes on issues of race among our teaching and ruling elders. Working with LifeWay has allowed us to collect significant data that will allow us to assess the current situation, identify specific problems that our denomination needs to address, and offer concrete steps to make progress on this issue. From this approach emerged the view that the dominant voice of white workers in South Africa was British, and to a lesser extent Australian, and that their blend of class and racial consciousness resulted in the widespread support for the common ideology of white labourism. Indeed, support for this system of industrial and racial segregation was prevalent across the British Empire, was widely supported by the imperial working class, and in South Africa was never seriously challenged or confronted before 1914. Over recent years, however, South African labour historians have made efforts to rethink their national labour history by examining the early labour movement and the ideology of white labourism in a global context. This article adopts a similar approach and argues that the politics of white labourism was not uniformly embraced by the imperial working class, and that in South Africa there was a vocal and active non-racialist movement which sought to confront racism and segregation, dispute the operation of the ‘‘colour bar’’, and challenge the white protectionist policies of the labour and trade-union movement.
