Embellish® Stabilizer Recommendation Guide

How to determine if you should use a fusible or non-fusible stabilizer and why do we offer both?

ALWAYS use a fusible version if the fabric allows for heat. Fusible stabilizer temporarily changes the fabric structure to prevent shifting. If you have a dense or high stitch-count design which requires more than one layer of stabilizer, use the same stabilizer and choose the non-fusible version.

Hypothetically speaking....How to determine how many layers of the stabilizer is needed (based on hoop size and design stitch count.)

If a 4” x 4” hoop holds 12,000 embroidery stitches with one piece of 12,000 stabilizer, how many layers of the stabilizer is needed for an 8” x 8” hoop??? 4” Stitches You might think the answer is 24,000 stitches, but that is not correct.

The fabric and stitch count of a design will determine if you need to float additional stabilizer underneath the hoop.
