This journey will take you alongside the and on some of the most scenic backroads in the region through Brungle.

Wind your way up the Killimicat Hill to Tumut, which is situated on the banks of the .

Tumut’s history is on show in many of the local streets, but its energy won’t be lost on new visitors.

Spend some time at the Tumut River Brewing company, a micro-brewery kicking big goals with its local brews.

Drop into the Pretty Parrot Distillery or take a walk alongside the Tumut river. Foodies are well- looked after in Tumut, with many cafes and pubs taking advantage of the fresh, local and seasonal ingredients produced in the region.

Take some of the region home, after a visit to Local at Learmont’s. Where fresh local fruit, vegetables and meat are available.

Head back down the hill from Tumut via the Gocup road and stop off in Gundagai for afternoon tea in one of the café’s in town or pay a visit to the famous ‘Dog on the Tuckerbox’, five miles from Gundagai.

Your journey home to The Sir George will take you through Gobbaralong, giving you another perspective of the mighty Murrumbidgee river.

Head south of Jugiong, along the Murrumbidgee river. And wind your way through the forests and hills around .

The birthplace of the famous Sir George sourdough. Wild yeast was first collected around these hills and is still used today in the starter made to make fresh loaves in our artisan bakery.

Look out for Bunyips as you meander your way back along the Murrumbidgee river, passing historic homesteads. Pack a picnic hamper (must be pre-ordered) or grab some goodies from the larder and while a way a few hours in the middle of nowhere. Soaking up every drop of the natural beauty of this part of the world.

Be mesmorised by the picturesque beauty of the Canola fields in flower. Travelling through some of the best grain growing country in Australia, the vivid yellow of the canola will be forever etched in your memory.

These drives will also take you through some stunning country growing a variety of wheat and grazing crops. You may also spot a few of interesting artworks along the way. Although many of the crops are located on private property, there are numerous places to stop along the roadside to capture that perfect photo.

Chose to take the loop though Cootamundra, the home of the Cootamundra Wattle Acacia Baileyana and the birthplace of Australia’s greatest cricketer Don Bradman.

Or head off through Harden-, home to the first Australian Light Horse Regiment and visit the life size bronze statue of Australia’s greatest War horse, a waler called ‘Bill the Bastard’. Stop off at Harden’s house of Honey and Jackson’s bakery and stock up on some lovely treats before you head back to Jugiong.
