Although this would be a large geographical area it would provide the number of residents to satisfy the Boundary Commissions suggestions for the District. Most importantly High and Low Bishopside and Bewerley together form the town of Pateley Bridge which is the service town for the Upper Dale; these two parishes, either side of the river Nidd, form one community, with many shared interests spread across the two parishes: schools, Cemetery, Memorial Hall, Show Ground, jointly owned Recreation Ground, Post Office, Business Association and shops. The link to Padside is one of close neighbours with their school being a major feeder school for the High School in Pateley Bridge. The links to the three parishes (Stonebeck Up, Stonebeck Down, Fountains Earth) north of Pateley Bridge are already well established within the current Ward and should remain within it.
