On 27/06/2016 the NSS unit of our college participated in a Rally to create awareness on “Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking” organized by Indian Red Cross Society Trichirappalli, District Branch and in close concultation with NARCOTICS INTELLIGENCE BUREAU(NIB) – CID Trichy. The Rally was flagged off by our Trichy City Police Commissioner Sri Sanjay Mathur, IPS.More than 200 NSS Volunteers of our college participated in this rally. At the end of the rally the certificates were distributed.

The organizers conducted various levels in marathon that is 21KM, 10KM and 5KM. 75 NSS volunteer participated in 5 Km run and also created awareness through human chain to the other participations of marathon.

The Shift I and Shift II members of the Gender Champion Club and Women’s Cell organized a ‘Rally on Gender Walk’ on 22nd February 2018. It was inaugurated by Mr. A.K.Kamal Kishore. I.A.S., Sub Collector, Tiruchirappalli in the presence of Dr.(Sr.) Christina Bridget, Principal, Holy Cross College (Autonomous) at 9.30 am. The rally began from Holy Cross College, passed via St. Joseph’s College and culminated at Holy Cross College. The theme and manifesto of this rally was “women and men are equal” and gender roles of Women could be shared by men and vice versa. More than 200 members of the Gender Champion Club of Shift – I & II and Vice principals participated in the rally.

An integrated health screening was held on 30th November and 1st December 2017 at Govt. Higher Secondary School,Thiruvalarai in Manachanallur. A total of 840 school students underwent this screening camp. Psychology assessment was conducted for students from 6th standard to 12th standard students, Audiology assessment was conducted for 9th standard to 12th standard students and Blood Grouping, BMI, Hb (gms) was conducted from 6th standard to 12th standard students.

The volunteers of Red Ribbon Club of Holy Cross College, Trichy participated in a 5km Marathon on 23rd September 2018 conducted by Indian Red Cross Society in association with Athma Education and Research Foundation(ARF) to create awarness on “Mental Health”. The marathon started at 6 o’clock moring from Anna Nagar – Uzhavar Santhai to Anna Stadium. More than hundred (100) volunteers of Red Ribbon Club actively particpated and received medals & certificates issued by organisors.

Exhibition focusing on Global warming, Environmental Pollution and the drastic effects of the usage of Plastic was organized by the Volunteers for the benefit of the school students of all the adopted villages. On 19.11.2016 the volunteers organized the exhibition on Plastic Awareness at Keelavangaram.

The volunteers demonstrated the making of paper bags to replace the use of plastic bags which would control land pollution to a larger extend. On the same day at 3.00 p.m an exhibition focusing Pollution Control was conducted at Melavangaram. They explained the causes and effects of Global warming through models, charts and photographs. On 19.11.16 the volunteers organized an exhibition at Ayyakudi School creating awareness on Pollution, Global Warming and Rain Water Harvesting. The school students felt that the exhibitions were very informative and useful.

The Nature club of Holy Cross College (Autonomous) Tiruchirappalli-2 went for the Environmental visit on 26th November 2016 to Naduvasai, Manora Fort, MalliPattinam Fishing Harbour and Vaduvoor Birds Sanctuary.Mr.Ramanathan, who is Nature friendly person and motivates people to plant trees, is cultivating various trees in large scale in his land. Mr.Ramanthan welcomed Our College Nature Club Volunteers with flowers and he explained the uses, importance and benefits of various trees and plants which he has grown in his land.He explained about, Sandal, Red Sandal, Mahakani, Kumi, Vangai, Malai Vembu etc… to the students. Lunch was also provided.Following that the students visited Manora Fort a historical place and then visited MalliPattinam Fishing Harbour and then the students visited Vaduvoor Birds sanctuary. The NSS Unit of Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, participated in a rally emphasizing eye donation on 8th December 2017. The rally was presided over by the Commisioner of Police, Tiruchirappalli district Mr. Mayilvaganan I.P.S. He spoke on the importance of eye donation, road safety and the importance of wearing helmet. He also emphasized that the young generation should carry the spark of eye donation to lighten the lives of the needy. In this rally the students created awareness by carrying hoardings and they marched up the roads chanting the prominence of eye donation. The rally commenced from Indira Gandhi College ground, near E.R. Hr. Sec. School to St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Trichy. About 125 students from our college participated in the rally.

The NSS unit of our college participated a rally on “Road Safety ” through Trauma Awareness” organized by Atlas Hospitals. 100 NSS volunteers attended the meeting at St. Joseph’s college, Trichy. And then participated in the Rally. The chief guest was Smt. R. Jeyanthi, Deputy Commissioner of Policy (Crime & Traffic), Trichy. Dr. S. J. Jaikish MD, Atlas Hospitals, Trichy spoke on the causes of accidents among youth. He also emphasized that all must follow the rules and regulations implemented by the government regarding road safety.

The Rotaractors made paper bags out of newspapers as a go green initiative. The bags were made as a part of the K4 –Kaka KakaKaveri Kaka project hosted by Rotary club of Sakthi. The paper bags were made as a go green initiative, to be distributed on Adi Perruku held on 3rd August 2014. The District Rotaract Organization appreciated the outstanding contribution of 5000 out of 7300 paper bags generated in all.
