Resurfacing damaged roads

Ealing Council has dedicated £6.5 million to the 2009/10 Footway and Carriageway improvement programme. In the Norwood Green ward this will mean resurfacing for both Wimborne Avenue and Wylie Road.

The council has also introduced six new specialist ‘drive- through-and-fix’ crews, to mend new potholes within five to six weeks . This will be at a cost of £299,000. Residents are reminded that weekly drop-in surgeries are held at the Windmill Park Estate Community Centre (Tuesdays 1.30-2.30pm) and at the Hunt Road Community Shop on the Havelock Estate (Tuesdays 2-3pm). Norwood Green

The 2008 Ealing Residents Survey highlights that the issues the highest proportion of residents describe as a concern are crime, including anti-social behavior (29%), litter/dirt in the streets (26%) the level of Council Tax (25%) and traffic congestion (23%). These four issues have consistently featured among the top concerns of Ealing residents in previous surveys. Availability of parking was also a concern for 19% of respondents1. Across the borough these five issues in general remain the priority concerns for residents, although in a varying order of importance.

The survey also indicates that four in five (84%) residents state they are satisfied with their neighbourhood as a place to live2. We are now planning ward forum events for 2009-10 and want to ensure that your local concerns are included. To help us do this, please answer the question below.
