Abstract: A checklist of the birds of Kurdistan Province, western Iran, is presented based on records of avian species whose presence was confrmed in the area as a result of feld surveys conducted from 2010 to 2018, literature review, and personal communicatons from researchers. This editon of the checklist includes 310 species of 23 orders and 59 families. Accepted English names, scientfc names, authority, remarks on , status, habitat, vernacular names in Kurdish, and conservaton status pertaining to the birds of this region are given. Our work comprises the frst ornithological document to cover all the bird species recorded to date in this province.

Keywords: Avifauna, checklist, conservaton, habitat, status, taxonomy.
