SHRI HARISHCHANDRA CHAVAN: Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the details of urban development proposals sent by the State Government of Maharashtra to the Union Government during the last three years; (b) the action taken by the Government on these proposals so far and the final outcome thereof: and; (c) the names of the cities developed/covered under this scheme and the works related to these schemes? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS (SHRI HARDEEP SINGH PURI) (a) to (c): Urban Development is a State subject. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs facilitates and assists States/Union Territories(UTs), including Maharashtra, in this endeavour through its Missions- Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban(SBM-U), Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation(AMRUT), Smart Cities Mission(SCM), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yogana(Urban)(PMAY-U) and through Urban Transport Projects to improve the quality of life in cities and towns covered under these Missions. List of such cities/towns in the State of Maharashtra along with details of funds released are in Annexure I. Under the Missions the Central Government approves the State Plans and provides the Central Assistance to the States. The projects are selected, designed, approved and executed by the States/UTs and the Cities. In continuation of this office Circular dated 4th April, 2020 and in view of the direction received from Central Project Coordinator, Bombay High Court, in the wake of outbreak of Covid-19, the VC unit is already set up in District Court and Taluka Courts, purely for the purpose for remand and hearing on extremely urgent matters only between 12.00 noon to 02.00 p.m. on court working days. A total of 1078 blood samples from individuals were found heterozygous and 19 individuals were individuals belonging to 3 different tribal castes were collected found to be homozygous for sickle cell gene. The sickle cell by organizing screening camps in co-ordination with the officials allele frequency was found to be 0.01414 in Gond, 0.03604 in from Primary Health Centers. Few drops of blood were collected Kolam and 0.00436 in Pardhans. by bold finger prick for performing the solubility test (Huntsman et al, 1970) for preliminary diagnosis of SCD.
