Act 19:1 And it came about that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper country came to Ephesus, and found some disciples, Paul’s third missionary journey Act 19:2 and he said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" And they said to him, "No, we have not even heard whether there is a Holy Spirit." (3) And he said, "Into what then were you baptized?" And they said, "Into John's baptism." (4) And Paul said, "John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus." (5) And when they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Like Apollos these men knew only the baptism of John (Acts 18.25) Act 10:47 "Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?“ Act 22:16 'And now why do you delay? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.' Act 8:18 Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was bestowed through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money, Act 1:19 And it became known to all who were living in Jerusalem; so that in their own language that field was called Hakeldama, that is, Field of Blood.) (21) "It is therefore necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us-- (22) beginning with the baptism of John, until the day that He was taken up from us--one of these should become a witness with us of His resurrection." 2Co 12:12 The signs of a true apostle were performed among you with all perseverance, by signs and wonders and miracles.
