Thomas Burns MLA has asked:

To ask the Minister of Education to detail (i) the total number of (a) primary schools; and (b) secondary schools which closed during the recent cold weather; (ii) the names of these schools; and (iii) for how long each school was closed.

I have been advised by the Chief Executives of the Education and Library Boards that 140 primary schools and 19 secondary schools closed during the recent cold weather. Tables listing the school names and the duration of the closures have been placed in the Assembly Library.
