Redland Hospital
Redland Hospital is the major health centre for Redland City and Brisbane’s southern bayside suburbs.
Redland Hospital is a 169-bed acute secondary teaching hospital. Redland specialises in integrated care with close and effective links with the local GP services and the community. A new multi-story car park is to commence construction during 2021. Bayside Health Service – Metro South Page 2 of 6 Health Clinical support services available at Redland Hospital include pharmacy, pathology and diagnostic radiology/ medical imaging.
The Redland Hospital and community services collaborate on a number of health services provided by the Hospital. These services include family health protection, drug and alcohol, geriatrics/aged care, health promotion, HIV/AIDS, palliative care, rehabilitation, sexual assault, indigenous health, women’s health, oral health, breast screening and geriatrics /residential aged care. The Redland Hospital offers excellent mental health care with the Bayside Mental Health Service being located on the same grounds as the Redland Hospital. The Bayside Mental Health service consists of an inpatient unit, child and youth mental health service and a new Bayside community care unit.

Co-located Services
Redland Hospital is co-located with the 60-bed Mater Private Hospital Redland, the Redland Health Service Centre and Redland Residential Care.
Redland Health Service Centre provides a range of community and primary health services including child health, Breast Screen, chronic disease management, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander liaison, palliative care and a public dental clinic.
Redland Residential Care is a 126-bed high care residential aged care facility. It includes 16 residential transition care beds.
Wynnum-Manly Community Health Centre
Wynnum-Manly Community Health Centre, Gundu Pa is the new state-of-the-art public health facility for the Wynnum and Manly areas.
A range of services are available under one roof, including a 24-hour Primary Care Centre, Addiction and Mental Health, Allied Health, Breast Screen Queensland, Child Development, Chronic Disease, Oral Health and Specialist Outpatients.
Many services are new or expanded and all existing local services have been retained in the building or in facilities nearby. The 24-hour Primary Care Centre is a walk-in service and designed to treat less urgent/minor injuries and illnesses and offers junior Emergency Medicine doctors’ a chance to work alongside Senior Medical Officers in a clinic style environment.

The newly-opened Pandanus ward is located in Casuarina Lodge (48 New Lindum Road, Wynnum West) next to Wynnum-Manly Community Health Centre, Gundu Pa. Pandanus is a Palliative Care unit providing localised care and support to the Wynnum and Manly community and is alongside the existing units in Casuarina Lodge (Jasmine and Wisteria).
Marie Rose Centre - Dunwich
Marie Rose Centre is an outpost of the Redland Hospital Emergency Department in Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island. The facility provides triage, care and transfer of patients to mainland facilities in conjunction with Queensland Ambulance Service appropriate.
During business hours, the centre is staffed by a Queensland Health nurse. After hours, a nurse is ‘on-call’ for emergencies. A 24-hour ‘on call’ medical service is provided by the Principal House Officer doctors on rotation from the Redland Hospital Emergency Department. Marie Rose Centre is collocated with a Queensland Ambulance Service station.
Marie Rose utilises technology such as Telehealth to provide virtual care for palliative care patients. It works closely with the local health care providers on the island including the Yulu-Burri-Ba Aboriginal Health Service and the local GP service at Point Lookout. Bayside Health Service is located on Brisbane’s Bayside, thirty-minute drive to Brisbane’s CBD and fifty-minute drive to the Gold Coast.
Redlands is an unspoilt jewel of Queensland’s south east; from the area’s award-winning winery and lush hinterland, to lively Bayside restaurants and coastal bike and walking trails.
Access to beautiful North Stradbroke Island is from Cleveland. North Stradbroke Island has kilometres of golden beaches and is a great place to see dolphins, turtles and from June to November, humpback whales.
