Headteachers Newsletter - January 2017

A very warm welcome back to school. I hope that everyone had a good break over the festive season.

Looking back briefly to last term, I was so impressed with the quality of both Christmas performances; the singing was amazing as was the learning of all those lines in the plays!

A big thank you everyone for all the generous donations received for our sponsored charity, East Anglia Children Hospice. In total the amount raised was £843.63! Children in Need day was a massive success, we raised a grand total of £1300.

We have another busy term ahead of us with lots of trips and visits. Full details of your class curriculum are posted on the parent tab of the website and have been emailed out to you.

Our Infant playground equipment is almost finished, having been slightly delayed by the weather. All works should be completed by the end of next week. I am sure that the children are really excited about getting outside and exploring their new castle and trim trail.

Lastly, I am delighted with the recognition and validation given for the work we are doing at Eaton by the Dept. for Education. Please see my separate letter for an executive summary of their visit findings.

Pupil Achievements Yara Kherbeck passed her Guitar (grade 1) exam with distinction – fantastic well done Yara ! Ved Kumar has successfully passed his first saxophone exam (grade 1) at Trinity College with distinction – amazing achievement well done

Teacher led clubs Clubs start again from Monday next week (9 January) and run through until w/c 20 March, with the exception of w/c 6 February which is parent consultation week. You can check your bookings by logging into the on line booking system. As mentioned in the December Newsletter, there is a change to collection arrangements for Junior club children.

Maths Club & Card Games Club will be collected at the door by class 4C, onto the playground by the table tennis tables.

All other Junior clubs will be collection via school office entrance.

Infant clubs are unaffected and remain the same as last term.

For those Year 6 children that are collected from school, booster lesson collection is from the blue gate by the table tennis tables.

We had a number of repeated non attendances last term. Children who are expected to attend clubs and do not arrive for registration, with no advance call from the parent cause a safeguarding issue. If clubs are missed more than once without notification, the club place will be have to be removed.
