Scared fanzine.indd 1 21/6/10 13:16:55 introduction Hello and welcome to the first Scared To Dance fanzine! I got the idea to put together my own zine after DJing at Do You DIY? where Rod Bower had asked me to contribute a page for the all-dayer. It wasn’t so much the fanzine itself but looking around the room that day I realised I knew so many people who actively did things themselves. Friends with endless enthusiasm for making music and putting it out themselves, promoters, bloggers and people who just show undying support for what we have here. So here it is, my zine to the world. I hope you have as much fun reading it as I did putting it all together. Enjoy the Press Play for Songs by The Understudies EP and see you at the club night soon! Paul Richards contents With special thanks to all of the bands who were interviewed, all of our contributors and also to Bree Wright for all the hours of painstaking design. www.scaredtodance.co.uk Facebook: tinyurl.com/scaredtodance Twitter: twitter.com/scaredtodance www.myspace.com/scaredtodanceclub Scared fanzine.indd 2 21/6/10 13:16:56 contents 1 The Pains of Being Pure at Heart 17 Odd Box Records 5 Indietracks Festival 18 No One Died 7 Darren Hayman 19 Brilldream 9 Allo Darlin’ 21 Live Review: Slow Club 11 Standard Fare 22 Live Review: Sleigh Bells 12 Betty and the Werewolves 23 Show Me Wishes Worth More 13 The Understudies Than These 14 Hissing at Swans 26 Chasing the Cherryade Rush 15 My Secret World: The Story of 27 My Love for Julian Barnes Sarah Records 28 The Wooden Coat Hanger/ 16 Twee Grrrls Club Why I Love Election Night Scared fanzine.indd 3 21/6/10 13:16:59 Interview #1: The Pains of Being Pure at Heart Scared to Dance chats to Kip video come so late after the release Berman, lead singer of The Pains of the single? of Being Pure at Heart. what have you been up to since We wanted the video to be a certain way, your last tour of Britain? and then we got all caught up in touring and other stuff, so we never got to finish Well, since we were last over in Decem- it in a way that felt right. • ANNUAL REPORT 2014-2015 School of Sciences and Mathematics Annual Report 2014‐2015
ANNUAL REPORT 2014-2015 School of Sciences and Mathematics Annual Report 2014‐2015 Executive Summary The 2014 – 2015 academic year was a very successful one for the School of Sciences and Mathematics (SSM). Our faculty continued their stellar record of publication and securing extramural funding, and we were able to significantly advance several capital projects. In addition, the number of majors in SSM remained very high and we continued to provide research experiences for a significant number of our students. We welcomed four new faculty members to our ranks. These individuals and their colleagues published 187 papers in peer‐reviewed scientific journals, many with undergraduate co‐authors. Faculty also secured $6.4M in new extramural grant awards to go with the $24.8M of continuing awards. During the 2013‐14 AY, ground was broken for two 3,000 sq. ft. field stations at Dixie Plantation, with construction slated for completion in Fall 2014. These stations were ultimately competed in June 2015, and will begin to serve students for the Fall 2015 semester. The 2014‐2015 academic year, marked the first year of residence of Computer Science faculty, as well as some Biology and Physics faculty, in Harbor Walk. In addition, nine Biology faculty had offices and/or research space at SCRA, and some biology instruction occurred at MUSC. In general, the displacement of a large number of students to Harbor Walk went very smoothly. Temporary astronomy viewing space was secured on the roof of one of the College’s garages. The SSM dean’s office expended tremendous effort this year to secure a contract for completion of the Rita Hollings Science Center renovation, with no success to date.

  • Vaskeægte Girlpower I Lille VEGA Med Dum Dum Girls
Se det HER.

  • Monitoring the Cross-Border Circulation of European Music Repertoire
Monitoring the cross-border circulation of European music repertoire within the European Union Report commissioned by EMO & Eurosonic Noordeslag Emmanuel Legrand January 2012 1 About this report: The music scene in Europe is very strong, creative and diversified. Each country within the European Union has a solid local music scene. However, due to the structure of the various national markets, the existence of language diversity and different cultural behaviours, the flow of repertoire across borders within the EU is far from reflecting the notion of one single market. Although there have been embryonic attempts to document the situation of European music repertoire in Europe, the full scale of the situation has never been fully monitored. The European Music Office, in partnership with Eurosonic Noordeslag and Nielsen, has undertaken a preliminary study aimed at monitoring and analysing the cross-border flows of repertoire within the EU in 2011. The study provides quantifiable data on the circulation of repertoire with the ambition of becoming the foundation for an observatory of the circulation of repertoire in Europe. This report has been made possible with the contributions from the following organisations: [NB: the views expressed in this report are those of its author and do not represent those of EMO of Eurosonic Noordeslag.] 2 Executive Summary The study on the circulation of European repertoire within the European Union was commissioned by the European Music Office and Dutch conference and festival Eurosonic Noordeslag. Its purpose is to analyse the flow of repertoire between EU countries, based on statistical data on radio airplay and digital downloads.
