MAJOR NEW FIRMS AND EXPANSIONS IN ANDERSON COUNTY 2016-2018 Anderson County leads the State in industry recruitment and economic development (announced February 2, 2018 by the South Carolina Department of Commerce). New plant expansions and facilities in Anderson County include:

Arthrex, Inc. In October 2017, Arthrex, Inc., a global orthopedic medical device company headquartered in South Florida, announced plans to build a new manufacturing plant in Anderson County that the company says will create more than 1,000 jobs by 2025. Arthrex is a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics and a pioneer in the field of arthroscopy, according to the company. It has developed more than 11,000 innovative products and surgical procedures over the last 26 years, according to company materials. The new plant will be built on U.S. 76 in the Sandy Springs community. Arthrex said it will use the 250,000-square-foot facility to manufacture its orthopedic devices and implants.

Electrolux Swedish-based manufacturer Electrolux announced plans in January 2018 to expand and shift its entire Frigidaire freezer operation to Anderson in 2019, when its current 800,000-square-foot expansion project is complete. Part of the operation is currently in St. Cloud, Minnesota, but that facility will close in

2019. The shift is likely to add to the company’s 2,000-person local workforce, already one of Anderson County’s largest.

Robert Bosch In December 2017, Robert Bosch, an existing Anderson County company, announced a $152 million planned expansion for the growth of several product lines in relation to automotive electronic components. Bosch is the second-largest manufacturing employer in Anderson County. Employees at its plant on State 81 North make an array of automotive products that include oxygen sensors, integrated fuel modules and transmission control modules. The new investment in Anderson County is expected to create at least 130 new jobs.

Techtronic Industries Co., Ltd Techtronic Industries Co., Ltd, (TTI) expanded manufacturing and distribution operations in Anderson County in 2016. The $85 million investment will create at least 216 new jobs in Anderson, S.C. over the next five years. The investment includes a new 1.3 million-square-foot distribution, assembly and reconditioning center. TTI is a world-class leader in design, manufacturing and marketing of Power Tools, Outdoor Power Equipment, and Floor Care and Appliances for consumers, professional and industrial users in the home improvement, repair and construction industries.
