To help ease the burdens placed on today’s Marine Corps families, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation launched the American Patriots Campaign in 2007. Through the generosity of many, we have successfully achieved our expanded Phase I goal of the campaign, raising $60,000,000. The continued rise in educational costs, coupled with the increasing number of Marine children in need, demands that we continue to support our Marine families. Our goal is to raise funds to provide further educational opportunities for the sons and daughters of the Marines who serve our nation today and in future years. The American Patriots Campaign is receiving outstanding support from across our nation. Through the charitable investment of many, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation will launch Phase II of the American Patriots Campaign later this year. Our mission and goal is to help ensure that the children of our nation’s Marines will have the opportunity of higher education to help strengthen their lives and all of America. • The Performative Nature of Dramatic Imagination
PERFORMANCE PHILOSOPHY E-ISSN 2237-2660 The Performative Nature of Dramatic Imagination Rubén Vega BalbásI IUniversidad Nebrija – Madrid, Spain ABSTRACT – The Performative Nature of Dramatic Imagination – Creative imagination is a central concept in critical philosophy which establishes the framing faculty of the subject in the middle of the cognitive process. Linking the internal and the external, imagination is also key for dramatic acting methodologies. This mediation has been alternatively interpreted in Western tradition under a reversible perspective, giving priority to either the process that goes from the outside inwards (aesthesis) or just the opposite (poiesis). Going beyond dialectics, this article will connect philosophy with dramatic theory. My proposal explores the virtual drama of identity to emphasise how the transcendental and empirical get linked theatrically. Keywords: Imagination. Drama. Performance. Acting. Performance Philosophy.

Administration of Barack Obama, 2011 Remarks on Presenting the Congressional Medal of Honor to Sergeant Dakota L. Meyer September 15, 2011 Thank you, everybody. Please be seated. Thank you, Chaplain Kibben. Good afternoon, everyone. And on behalf of Michelle and myself, welcome to the White House. It's been said that "where there is a brave man, in the thickest of the fight, there is the post of honor." Today we pay tribute to an American who placed himself in the thick of the fight, again and again and again. In so doing, he has earned our Nation's highest military decoration, the Medal of Honor. And we are extraordinarily proud of Sergeant Dakota Meyer. Today is only the third time during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq that a recipient of the Medal of Honor has been able to accept it in person. And we are honored to be joined by one of the two other recipients, Sergeant First Class Leroy Petry, who is here. I would point out something else. Of all the Medal of Honor recipients in recent decades, Dakota is also one of the youngest. He's 23 years old. And he performed the extraordinary actions for which he is being recognized today when he was just 21 years old. Despite all this, I have to say Dakota is one of the most down-to-Earth guys that you will ever meet. In fact, when my staff first tried to arrange the phone call so I could tell him that I'd approved this medal, Dakota was at work, at his new civilian job, on a construction site.
