First owner H.M. (His Majesty) King of Vittorio Emanuele III since December 14, 1939. Number of units produced 6, 3 saloons and 3 cabriolets on order of the Royal House. Each of the 6 cars has been assigned a name, corresponding to the names of the King's horses. ALCINOO, the name given to the Torpedo in question, was in fact one of His Majesty's horses.

Initially it was made available to S.A.R. (His Royal Highness) Prince of Piedmont, heir to the throne, who used it in some important circumstances such as the visit to the Vatican to Pope Pius XII in the company of his wife Princess Maria Jose of Belgium and the visit to Italy by Adolf Hitler in 1938, on that occasion the King in the company of the Führer went by car to Santa Marinella to attend a military exercise, the car was not yet license plate.

At the beginning of August 1940 it was made available to the Countess Calvi di Bergolo.

On 27 August 1940 the car was taken to Villa Savoia for the needs of H.M. King Vittorio Emanuele III and Queen Margherita for official parades such as the visit to Italy of the Emperor of Japan Hiroito, in the company of H.M. (His Majesty) Umberto II (who became King only after the abdication of his father Vittorio Emanuele III, and reigned from May 9 to June 18, 1946).

From 1940 to 1943 he took Prime Minister several times to the Quirinale and on 10 and 11 March 1940 he used it to meet Von Ribbentrop in . "Courier Sunday"

On February 12, 1940 Mussolini used the car to welcome in Bordighera the Caudillo Generalissimo Franco di Spagna and the Spanish Minister of the Interior Serrano Suner.

On 1 February 1941 it was assigned to the Princess of Pistoia.

On November 15, 1943 the car was withdrawn along with the other 5 examples from the Command of the Open City of Rome where it remained in use until 1946.

On February 6, 1947, the Fiat Torpedo was cancelled from the property held by the Ministry of the Interior and was recorded on the vehicle registration document held by the Presidency of the Italian Republic.

From 1947 to 1962 the car was used by the Presidents of the Republic , and Giovanni Gronchi. Since May 6, 1962, by President Segni. De Nicola used it to welcome the President of the United States of America on a visit to Italy. Harry Truman.

On August 8, 1962 the car was sold to the FIAT SPA FILIALE DI ROMA.

Since 1969 Torpedo 2.8 has been kept with great care and love, in perfect condition in Italy by the current owner.

Historical notes:

The Torpedo 2.8 was put into production by Fiat from 1938 to 1944 to meet the needs of a dignified service of representation for the services of the Italian State. Fiat produced 621 chassis, of which 288 were bodyworked for saloons and torpedoes, 210 for military torpedoes, while the remaining chassis were never used. Several coachbuilders tried their hand at the 2800 chassis as Pininfarina of the Farina plants that set up the 000276 chassis in question supplied to the Royal House in 1939. The car is born with 5 seats plus 2 folding folding seats. During the period in which it was used by the Presidents of the Republic, with the advent of the new highway code, the car was adapted and was given a more modern line, eliminating the spare wheels placed on the front fenders.
