Go beyond discussions and take action towards the urgent care and protection of native flora and fauna. Through the efforts of the Preserve-A-Prairie program, we conserve and propagate the endangered prairie ecoregions of Texas. BLACKLAND PRAIRIE Take a moment and imagine stepping back in time. The space where our neighborhoods and cities currently occupy is blanketed with a vast network of tall grasses and vibrant wildflowers stretching towards the horizon. The deafening noise of cars and commerce is replaced by a symphony of birds chirping, amphibians trilling, and uninterrupted wind sweeping the blades of grass. Before early settlers drastically altered the landscape and we continued to “tame the wild,” this is what our slice of North Texas looked like. It is the namesake of our eco-region, the Blackland Prairie. JOIN OUR PRAIRIE TEAM TODAY!
