We recognized that Sutherlin is currently focusing protection efforts on your Cooper Creek source intake therefore; the Source Water Assessment for the Cooper Creek Reservoir intake was prioritized by DEQ and completed for Sutherlin in June 2000. We hope that this additional information on the Calapooya Creek intake and the area that supplies water to it will assist you in your protection efforts. The assessment was prepared under the requirements and guidance of the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act and the US Environmental Protection Agency, as well as a detailed Source Water Assessment Plan developed by a statewide citizen's advisory committee here in Oregon over the past two years.
