The initial letter is from Cheah Boon Keng from the Department of History of the University of Malaya, conducting interviews for his monograph. He informs David Marshall that in his interviews with Senator T.H. DM.225.098 21/11/1974 Tan, and Too Joo Hing, former Assistant Minister in Digitized Open Tengku Abdul Rahman's first cabinet, both had alleged that it was because of a demand from David Marshall for "unconditional surrender" that the Baling Talks had failed.
