Dear friends of Mozart, The complete Schedule k a very special anniversary requires extraordinary ideas. On 27 January 2006 the 250th anniversary of the birth of is marked by the international TV event 24hours Mozart. The event is to be broadcast in over 30 countries and reaches an audience of millions. The 24-hour TV marathon represents the media highlight of the Mozart Year 2006 and includes live broadcasts from , Salzburg, Berlin, Prague and Beijing.

This ambitious TV project features the most prominent Mozart interpreters of the day as well as leading orchestras and ­ensembles – amongst them the Wiener Philharmoniker and the Berliner Philharmoniker. Renowned musicians contributing to the event include , , , , , , , Maria João Pires, Renée Fleming, , , , Gil Shaham, and the Wiener Sängerknaben as well as legendary interpreters such as Wilhelm Furtwängler, Karl Böhm, , Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Christa Ludwig, and , and other artists including Dee Dee Bridgewater and Ian Anderson.

The programme is to be broadcast via satellite on 27 January 2006 from Vienna from 8 a.m. (CET) onwards.
