Bertsch Shines in New Role Since becoming a reliever at the beginning of April, redshirt senior Jackson Bertsch has excelled in his new duties. In eight relief appearances, Bertsch has posted a 2-0 record with two saves and a 0.87 ERA over 20 2/3 innings. He has struck out 32 and walked three batters. He has only allowed three of the 11 runners he has inherited to score. Bertsch was named the Big South Relief Pitcher of the Week for April 2-6, his fi rst full week working out of the Liberty bullpen.
