He has been play- ing at Birmingham his whole life, and has been apart of the Birming- ham Unified program for 4 years. He hopes to continue his hockey career further into college. A message for the underclassmen is to enjoy every moment you can, because it will be over before you know it. Patrick’s dream is to attend the University of Michigan and to play club hockey as a Wolverine. Mark Deacon #7 Mark started skating in the back yard at 3 years old. He joined the Birmingham Hockey Association at 5 and played there until he was 12. He then joined the Birmingham Liberty for one year then moved on to Royal Oak. Mark joined the BU program as a sophomore playing with the JV and Coach Chateau. Mark loves playing defense and is looking forward to a great senior year. BIRMINGHAM UNIFIED SENIORS Kevin Kristopik #5 Captain At the age of 4, Kevin began his hockey career as a “chair pusher” at the Learn to Skate program in Royal Oak. He especially loved laying on the ice and making snow angels during the instruc- tion time! Eventually he got the hang of skating and hasn’t stopped since. He has participated in both the Royal Oak and Birmingham house hockey programs, as well as travel hockey for Birmingham—the Birmingham Liberty. His favorite hockey times have been as a member of the BU hockey teams. He played JV as a freshman and sophomore and Varsity as a junior. Kevin loved winning the JV championship! Last year, the playoff game against Orchard Lake St. Mary’s was quite a memory. Kevin hopes to participate in hockey in some way in college---either as a fan or on a club team or both! Kenneth Jacob O’Hanlon #9 Kenn started his hockey career when he was eight years old, playing defense as a mite for the Southfi eld Hockey Club. The following year he moved over to Royal Oak Hockey where he chose to change his posi- tion to a forward. This is where Kenn played for the majority of his time. He also chose to play travel for a season, as a defenseman/ forward for the Royal Oak Eagles. During his fi nal year at Royal Oak Kenn switched to the Adray League where his team went on to win the State Championship. After that he joined the high school team as a freshman on the JV team for two years and two years as a varsity player. Kenneth is planning on attending the University of Michigan next year and will always play hockey somewhere. BIRMINGHAM UNIFIED SENIORS Michael Madigan #24 Ever since the age of 5 Michael has displayed a love for the game of hockey. Whether it was skating on the back yard rink or the verity of travel teams, Michael has never lost his passion of the game. He skated for the Birmingham Rangers, Orchard Lake Pirates, and the Southfi eld Warriors, before joining the BU Hockey Program. Michael has skated for BU the past three seasons. Great friends and memories have been made over these past three years! Michael hopes to take his passion for the game to the next level and skate for Ole Miss while earning a degree in Business. Jacob Saroli #1 At age 2, Jacob was constantly roller blading through the house with a plastic hockey stick recruiting anyone and everyone to play hockey. At age 4, Jacob started playing for the Royal Oak house team as a center. After being asked to take a turn playing goalie, Jacob realized that was his passion.
