Abstract - The Ichneumonidae is a large family of including a vast number of parasitic species. A survey was performed on occurrence of the ichenumonids belong to subfamilies, Anomaloninae and Ophioninae at Sistan & Baluchestan Province during 2010-2011. The specimens were collected from different locality using standard sweeping net. Six species were collected and identified, of which rufa (Holmgren, 1857) (Anomaloninae) is a new record for the fauna of Iran. Three species consisting cruentatum (Geoffrey, 1828), Barylypa rufa (Holmgren, 1857) (Anomaloninae) and Enicospilus stenopsis (Kohl, 1905) (Ophioninae) are newly recorded from Sistan & Baluchestan province.

Key words: Barylypa rufa , Iran, Medicago sativa , new record.

Introduction The subfamily Ophioninae is the other group of Ichneumonids with 32 genera worldwide (Gauld, The family Ichneumonidae is the largest family in 1985). Members of subfamily Ophioninae are the order Hymenoptera bearing about 45 subfamilies associated with where they attack the and many species of which attacking medium and large sizes larvae and emerge from important agricultural pests (Townes, 1969; pupal chamber or cocoon. They are easily attracted Coruh et al., 2004). to light-traps (Cederberg, 1979; Hansen et al., The subfamily Anomaloninae is a large group of 2010). The subfamily Ophioninae is recognizable Ichneumonids consisting 38 genera worldwide. with following characters: relatively huge and easily They are an important group which occurring in all species, usually with broad wings and red-brown zoogeographic regions of the world (Gauld, 1980). body (Townes, 1971; Gauld, 1973). The species of this subfamily are koinobiont Up to now, 12 species from the subfamily endoparasitoids mostly on Lepidoptera and some Anomaloninae and 17 species from the subfamily Coleoptera. The female parasitoids oviposit into the Ophioninae are reported from Iran (Kolarov and larvae, but the adults emerge always from the pupa Ghahari, 2005; Zarepour-Ashkezari et al., 2008; Gauld & Bolton, 1988; Wahl, (Townes, 1971; Masnadi-Yazdinejad and Jussila, 2009; Zarepour- 1993). The anomalonines are recognized by Ashkezari et al., 2009; Ghahari et al., 2010). combination of these characters: gracile appearance, lack of areolet in forewing, lack of regular carinae In general, very few species of Ichenumonids wasps on the propodeum, and in having the posterior ocelli are recoreded from Sistan & Baluchistan province. separated from the occipital carina by a distance of Here we present the new data about occurrence of less than their own maximum diameter (Townes, two subfamilies Anomaloninae and Ophioninae at 1971; Gauld, 1980). this region, as well as new species record for the fauna of Iran.
