Ruidoso Art Festival is chaiDber's shining show We hope all of you had a chance to attend the Ruidoso Art Festival and see a cornucopia of you like creativity gathered under one roof. As the major Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Com B. . merce fundraiser for the year, it's important to support this event. Amazingly, the show produces enough in come to cover one-third of the chamber's budget. The new shuttle service is a great idea. Cooperative ventures between local organizations is the most eco nomicaf way to improve business for everyone. The shuttle ran back and forth from the art festival to the Museum of the Horse, Ruidoso Downs Race Track and McGary art studio (where people could get off and tour throughout the downtown shops as well). The shuttle service also reduced traffic on Sudderth and Mechem, and anything that fulfills this goal is wor thy of everyone's support. It would be nice to see it stop even more places during next year's festival, and expand to other festivals. After 24 years, the Ruidoso Art Festival has be come firmly established in the area art scene. It is limited to 132 artists, and many more seek to be ad mitted. The selection jury aims to include a variety of art mediums, and this is one way to ensure the festi val remains popular with the general public. Of .
