Welcome RULES Welcome Parramatta District mums is a place for mothers that live/work in the Parramatta district to converse. Suburbs in the Parramatta district: Baulkham Hills, Camellia, Carlingford, Clyde, Constitution Hill, Dundas, Dundas Valley, Eastwood, Epping, Ermington, Granville, Guildford East, Harris Park, Kingsdene, Merrylands, North Parramatta, Northmead, Oatlands, Old Toongabbie, Parramatta, Pendle Hill, Rosehill, Rydalmere, Sefton, South Granville, Telopea, Toongabbie, Winston Hills, Wentworthville and Westmead. Surrounding suburbs are welcome. RULES Please abide by the rules. Posts that are against the rules will be deleted. Buy/Swap/Sell This is not a 'buy/swap/sell' group. All of these posts will be deleted. There are Buy Swap Sell Groups for the parramatta region. Please add yourselves to these groups if that is your aim. Exceptions to Buy/Swap/Sell If a group member is looking to buy tickets for a child’s event such as a Lah Lah concert, these may be posted here. This is a new rule and if it gets out of hand we will stop this from being allowed. If you are giving away a free baby related item such as formula, contact one of the admins first and we will go from there. Negative Posts Negative posts about businesses and services will be removed. You may talk about a negative experience but you cannot hint to where you experienced it on the page. If someone wants more information with their permission you may private message them outside the forum. Private Messaging Users If you want to private message a user, ask them publically first. Many people do not want contact outside the group from people they don’t really know. This generally happens when people are trying to sell products. If we receive complaints that a user is doing this, we will remove you from the group without warning. Events Feel free to create meetups. This doesn’t have to come from an admin. Anyone can set this up. The Parramatta district is quite large so you can create one for your own suburbs if you wish. Make sure that you do it in a public place unless you have met each other before and deem it safe enough. We take no responsibility for anything that occurs at these meet ups. Reporters/Journalists If you are a reporter or a journalist you may not publish what you see within this private group. Business Night Business Night occurs on the first Monday of every month between the hours of 8 & 9pm. Any business posts outside these hours will be deleted without warning. You are only allowed to make one post per business night. If you have multiple businesses choose only one that you would like to promote. Do not contact admin about a business post outside these hours. In the past we have been lenient and have allowed posts however it is a firm no. From time to time we might open a business night before an event such as Christmas. If someone is looking for a service, you may comment about your business if it is what the Original Poster is after. Business Exceptions If you have a not for profit event via your business or local event that would benefit the users, you may contact admin to see if you can post it. These are known as approved posts and need to have ADMIN APPROVED before them. Looking for a service From time to time people post looking for a service such as a gardener etc. If you have this service you may comment about your business within the post. This can happen outside of business hours Positive reviews about businesses If you have just been to a cafe or visited someone who provides goods or service and have been genuinely happy, you may share this in the group. You must not be affiliated to the person or business as it would be considered a business post. It must be genuine. Now I know this one is a hard one to prove but if someone is constantly posting rave reviews about the same business and it is unsolicited, we will know something is up and remove the posts and the user. Abuse Abusive comments of any sort will not be tolerated. Abuse includes harsh tones, discrimination and so forth. This will lead to an immediate deletion and block. Misunderstandings From time to time, people can misunderstand things. This is the nature of online where it is hard to gauge tone. Think about your audience and if you think they might not get your reference, explain it. If you are offended by something, just double check that it isn’t just a misunderstanding. Genuine insults are not allowed and the users will be removed. Recruitment Any recruitment posts for multi­level marketing will be deleted. If you are looking for an employee for your organisation and would like to advertise, please contact admin. We will look into your organisation to deem whether or not it is legitimate and then let you know if you are allowed to post. Sharing Posts This group is a private group. People like to share personal things and have the right for it to stay within this group. Anyone found sharing information from this group without the permission of the Original Poster will be removed. Introduction Australian Plants Society – New South Wales Ltd has fostered and promoted the appreciation, study and participation in growing and propagating Australian native plants since 1958. There are over 1640 members as well as 800 subscribers, 41 of whom are overseas institutions of learning. Environmental biosecurity has not received the attention enjoyed by agriculture biosecurity, yet the cost of dealing with weeds and other environmental pests becomes higher the longer they are allowed to spread, until they can no longer be eradicated. Environmental pests negatively affect our unique flora and fauna, environmental amenity and integrity, and recreation and tourism. The comprehensive report in 2007 titled ‘The Australian Weeds Strategy – A national strategy for weed management in Australia’, produced by the Australian Weeds Committee for The Natural Resource Management Ministerial Council, is an excellent report, and we strongly endorse the 3 goals set out in the report, as follows: Goal 1- Prevent new weed problems Goal 2 - Reduce the impact of existing priority weed problems Goal 3 - Enhance Australia’s capacity and commitment to solve weed problems 1 The Australian Weeds Strategy makes the following point: “Weeds are among the most significant and costly environmental threats in Australia. Of the 2700 species of introduced plants now established [in 2007], 429 have been declared noxious or are under some form of legislative control in Australia.
