Flies lay eggs on the FEMALE thorax and after two weeks, eggs hatch, maggots bore into beetle cavity. Plants that attract these flies include yarrow, parsnip and Queen Anne’s Lace *Tiphia vernalis, a parastic solitary wasp (looks like winged ant). Targets Japanese BEETLE GRUBS. Female burrows into soil after mating. She stings a grub to momentarily paralyze it, then lays one egg on it. Egg hatches, larvae feasts on grub. *Gardening Tools & More.
