Tickets for Troops Annual Review 2016
TICKETS FOR TROOPS ANNUAL REVIEW 2016 The Sun Military Awards Nominees at Number 10 Downing Street: Tickets For Troops was nominated for ‘Support to Armed Forces’ FOREWORD Thanks to the tremendous philanthropy of our supporters and donors from the nation’s live sports and events industry, 2016 was another active year for Tickets For Troops. We worked closely with hundreds of ticketing professionals, agents, box offices, promoters, clubs, teams and many more groups to ensure our servicemen and women continued to enjoy the delights of the sporting, musical, theatrical and entertainment world. This wonderful generosity combined with some beavering away in the Tickets For Troops office ensured that we were able to distribute 152,652 complimentary tickets for 6,291 events to our military members. Half way through the year, we were delighted to welcome on board a new team of regional volunteers known as ambassadors who are responsible for helping to increase the number of donors in their respective regions. The volunteer opportunity attracted a large number of applications from all around the country and the overall standard was exceptionally high. It was humbling for the team to see how many people from within the forces community wanted to give something back to Tickets For Troops. The regional ambassadors are being managed by our newest employee Elisabeth Roberts - recruited on a part-time basis thanks to the Armed Forces Covenant Fund grant. We were sad to lose Anastasia Baker in October, she was a superb asset to the team with her excellent customer service manner and speedy ticket packaging skills - we wish her well for the future. -

Sustainability Report 2018
Sustainability Report 2018 We love energy. Energy moves us, unites us, and brings us closer to the world. We love this energy, the universal language, which comes in all shapes and colors. Which impels us, motivates us, and challenges us in this story of sharing and of victories. Which is from the sun, the water, the wind, and the people. Which transforms, reinvents and creates an increasingly clean, sustainable, and efficient future. A contagious energy that encourages us to explore, to amaze, and to innovate in a world in constant change. This is the energy we love. WE LOVE ENERGY Sustainability Report 3 WE LOVE ENERGY EDP 2018 THIS REPORT EDP - Energias de Portugal, S.A. (hereinafter referred to as EDP), with head office in Lisbon, Avenida 24 de Julho 12 and with its shares listed on the Euronext Lisbon stock exchange, results from the transformation of Electricidade de Portugal, E.P., incorporated in 1976 following the nationalization and consequent merger of the main companies in the electricity sector in Portugal. During 1994, as established by Decree-laws 7/91 and 131/94, the EDP Group (EDP Group or Group) was set up following the split of EDP, which led to a number of directly or indirectly wholly owned subsidiaries of EDP. The Group’s businesses are currently focused on the generation, transmission, distribution and supply of electricity and supply of gas. Although complementary, the Group also operates in related areas such as engineering, laboratory tests, professional training, energy services and property management. EDP Group operates essentially in the European (Portugal, Spain, France, Poland and Romania) and American (Brazil and the United States of America) energy sectors. -
Monitoring the Cross-Border Circulation of European Music Repertoire
Monitoring the cross-border circulation of European music repertoire within the European Union Report commissioned by EMO & Eurosonic Noordeslag Emmanuel Legrand January 2012 1 About this report: The music scene in Europe is very strong, creative and diversified. Each country within the European Union has a solid local music scene. However, due to the structure of the various national markets, the existence of language diversity and different cultural behaviours, the flow of repertoire across borders within the EU is far from reflecting the notion of one single market. Although there have been embryonic attempts to document the situation of European music repertoire in Europe, the full scale of the situation has never been fully monitored. The European Music Office, in partnership with Eurosonic Noordeslag and Nielsen, has undertaken a preliminary study aimed at monitoring and analysing the cross-border flows of repertoire within the EU in 2011. The study provides quantifiable data on the circulation of repertoire with the ambition of becoming the foundation for an observatory of the circulation of repertoire in Europe. This report has been made possible with the contributions from the following organisations: [NB: the views expressed in this report are those of its author and do not represent those of EMO of Eurosonic Noordeslag.] 2 Executive Summary The study on the circulation of European repertoire within the European Union was commissioned by the European Music Office and Dutch conference and festival Eurosonic Noordeslag. Its purpose is to analyse the flow of repertoire between EU countries, based on statistical data on radio airplay and digital downloads. -

Wave of Rhythm: Non-formal Learning in a Popular Music Education Context “…Out of the regular succession of measured beats rises the wave; the prototype of rhythm grows from the seed of meter….” “…Da sucessão regular das pulsações métricas a onda surge; a génese de ritmo cresce da semente da métrica….” (Zuckerkandl, 1973, 170) Abstract Non-formal music learning has burgeoned over the last ten years particularly in UK secondary schools and in the Netherlands, where professional performers and community musicians have brought musical leadership skills into the formal education environment. The rationale for this PhD thesis came from the lack of research into non-formal learning of musical rhythm in a formal education context. As its main aim, this study situated in the context of popular music courses at a Scottish college, investigated the benefits of non-formal learning of rhythm for enhancing formal instrumental learning.
