Prior to joining UMC, Chancellor Casey served as dean and director of the University of Minnesota Extension Service Stephanie and her husband Tom reside at Maple Lake and the director of the Veterinary Outreach Programs at in Mentor, Minnesota. the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. He holds a bachelor of science and doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the University of Minnesota.

Among his awards are the Outstanding Achievement Award from the University of Minnesota; Director’s Distinguished Service Award from the Minnesota Extension Service; Torch & Shield Award from the University of Minnesota, Crookston; and he was named Minnesota Veterinarian of the Year in 1984. He is a recipient of the Honorary State Future Farmers of America Degree and the Friend of 4-H Award.

Chancellor Casey has three children, Shannon, Heather and David and three grandchildren, Maggie, Griffi n and Reid. He and his wife, Barbara Muesing, enjoy traveling, U.S. News & World Report has ranked U of M, especially to visit family. Crookston a “Top Public Midwest Baccalaureate College” for ten consecutive years.

www.goldeneaglesports.com 2007-08 Men’s Basketball Coaching Staff Head Men’s Basketball Coach Jeff Oseth Jeff Oseth begins his fi fth season as the University of Minnesota, Crookston head men’s basketball coach. Oseth had been the Golden Eagles assistant coach for seven years prior to stepping in as the interim head coach in 2002-2003.

Jeff Oseth, a native of McIntosh, MN had an outstanding prep career at Win-E- Mac High School. He was a three time All-Conference selection, a member of the 1,000 point club, nominated to the Minnesota All-Star Team, and was the Regions Most Valuable Player.

Coach Oseth’s ties to the University of Minnesota, Crookston run deep. Jeff played for UMC in 1990-92 where he was a two time All-Division player and was co-captain of a team that was ranked third offensively at the NJCAA Division I level. Coach Oseth transferred to Moorhead State University where he was a two-year letter winner and was voted the most dedicated player by his teammates both of his years there. Jeff earned the leadership award as a senior when he helped lead the Dragons to a 19 game winning season and one win away from the national tournament.

Oseth has forged a reputation as a dedicated worker with an intense competitive drive. He started his coaching career as an assistant at Minnesota State University, Moorhead where he helped MSUM to a 15 game winning season and help produce All-American and NCAA II leading scorer Brett Beeson. Jeff has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Minnesota State University, Moorhead and a Masters of Education in Human Resource Develop- ment from the University of Minnesota. Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Birman Jenkins Birman Jenkins enters his third season as the assistant coach for the University of Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagles. He has a good player/coach history with Head Coach Jeff Oseth, in which will help the program to rise to greater achieve- ments. BJ has the ability to help the development of the program and the players in aspects of recruiting, conditioning, agility, and defense.

BJ grew up loving sports and gradually became an outstanding athlete. He was an All-Star 1st baseman; high school 400-meter dash record holder (47.53); and an Arkansas Basketball All-Star Nominee. He also shared the same high school Alma Mater and basketball program in Hamburg, Arkansas, as Scottie Pippen of the six-time World Champion Chicago Bulls. After high school, he served four years in the Navy as a Submariner in the Atlantic Fleet.

Prior to coaching at UMC, he played for the Golden Eagles from 1999-2001 as a multi-positioned player. He was part of the 1st UMC NCAA Division II team in 1999 along with NSIC scoring record holder, Joe Hasz. He was top ten in the NSIC conference in FG% and offensive rebounding in 1999. He has the UMC 3-point FG% record (48%). BJ also attended Parkland Community College in Champaign, IL. (97-99). There he was captain of the team his freshman and sophomore seasons. In his two year stint, he was selected All-Conference, All-Region, and led the team in scoring (soph) and rebounding (fr). He has the record at Parkland for the most free-throw attempts in a season (216).
