ANNUAL REPORT Academy dancers perform The Sleeping Beauty Thank you for your warm welcome as I begin my tenure as Interlochen’s eighth president this year. I am honored to join the Interlochen family and am humbled by the dedication and generosity of Interlochen alumni, parents and friends.

The past year marked a great one for Interlochen, and I want to thank President Kimpton for his leadership. The Dennison Center for Recreation and Wellness opened in October, and we broke ground on the new Music Building in May. In July, we dedicated Corson Park on the shores of Green Lake. Thanks to a generous lead gift, we are now making plans to expand and improve our dance facilities, for which we will soon be seeking additional support. These important projects, together with the many dramatic improvements from the past several years, represent the progress we have made in revitalizing Interlochen’s campus. Thank you for your generosity in realizing this vision.

This year, we will continue CREATE AMAZING: The Campaign for Interlochen as a way to give everyone a place to unite through the power of the arts. As we celebrate our success thus far, I am excited to focus attention on the People and Programs of Interlochen. Together, we have the opportunity to support our faculty, enhance our artistic and educational programs and increase financial aid for our students–making Interlochen even more extraordinary.

On behalf of Interlochen trustees, faculty and staff, I hope you read this annual report for fiscal year 2017 (June 1, 2016 - May 31, 2017) with pride in what you have made possible and curiosity for what might be possible in the months and years ahead.

Thank you for helping make this a great beginning, and I look forward to continuing our work together.

With sincere appreciation,

Trey Devey President

WWW.INTERLOCHEN.ORG 1 We invite you to join us in giving everyone a place to unite through the power of the arts.

Started in 2012, and publicly launched in 2016, CREATE AMAZING: The Campaign for Interlochen is a comprehensive fundraising campaign to ensure the ongoing strength and vitality of Interlochen. Since its beginnings, you have helped us raise over $110 million. Thank you!

While we are proud of this accomplishment, we have the opportunity to broaden the impact on our students, faculty, programs and facilities and open the Campaign to new donors. As such, the Board of Trustees has raised the goal to $125 million.

With this new goal, we strive to focus on the People and Programs that make Interlochen extraordinary. This means further investment in financial aid, artistic and educational programs, and faculty support. We will also expand and improve our dance facilities, as we complete our fundraising for the new Music Building, which is expected to open in 2019.

Please contact us at 231.276.7623 or [email protected], or visit createamazing.org for more information or to make a pledge or a gift.
