Rich, bold Cabernet - more Californian in terms of ripeness and power than elegant Bordeaux.

The path to the glorious vine is sometimes more than the expected sufferings of the soul. He lost it all, the job, the house, the girl. Searching over the rolling hills, hectares of heat searing thirst; some would have given up, wishing that vivid dream of 99 points was not so far away.

Our blue-eyed boy has a different tale to tell. His search led to the glorious vine. Not just any vine, but the Master Frank of Vine, yes that is right the true Whip-Hand of all things . Life’s sweet, forget the rest.

The Wine We’ve sourced only the finest fruit from a collection of vineyards in the heart of the Barossa. Old vines, mature fruit, deep and dark flavours. That’s what we crave for our Whip-Hand to draw out it’s true power.

The growers Adrian Hoffmann, affectionately known to all as Hoffy, is regularly touted as the man who grows some of the best Cabernet in the Barossa

The Poole family – with Matt and Deb at the helm – are proud owners and operators of a vineyard based in Light Pass amongst the famous Barossa Valley wine region of South . The land and vineyard has been passed on through the generations of Deb’s family and their four children are sixth generation descendants. Ageing The grapes were destemmed and fermented in a small open top fermenter.

During the fermentation, this was hand-plunged three times a day and kept on its skins for 14 days to ensure maximum colour and extraction. The wine was then pressed and drained into two, new, American hogsheads for 24 months of barrel aging perfection. Tasting notes Mulberry, blackberry, blackforrest cake on the nose. Juicy up-front tannins made for aging with a finish of brooding, dense dark fruits, shaved chocolate and vanilla on the palate from the oak.
