SOLONGO LASIK CENTER

The project goal is to create a “beautiful” business that is effective, friendly, and promising, with the help of technology, skills, and the know-how to address the rapidly growing number of cases of corneal deformity and vision loss among people around the world, especially in the Asian region.

With the purchase of a Schwind AMARIS 1050RS system, leading laser eye surgery technology from Germany, 600-800 LASIK surgeries can be performed annually. This machine’s advantages over other machines include: corneal correction laser beam speed of 1,050 Hz, which is 10 times faster than the machine currently being used (correction can be made in 4-8 seconds), and new 7D tracking technology that tracks the eye during scanning.

This improves the aim of the laser shot and shortens the time it takes to complete coverage of the corneal incision, allowing you to feel the results of the laser surgery immediately. In addition, this machine has the advantage of also being able to treat keratoconus, which could not be done in Mongolia before. It is now possible to provide such treatment that was otherwise only available abroad.

Mobile telemedicine solves two challenges: addressing limited info on available alternatives to public health providers, and linking clients to professional medical service providers in a timely manner. Times such as the COVID-19 pandemic make getting in- person appointments for minor illnesses even more difficult due to safety precautions.

What’s good about a mobile platform is that it offers alternatives for patients looking for doctors and departments, with references to years in practice years and public reviews. ongolia’s long and medium-term development policies and plans, as well as the Government’s LIVESTOCK MAction Plan, contain specific references to the objective of developing agro- production and marketing chains, fully meeting domestic needs for key food SECTOR products through domestic production, supporting import substitution, and the production of products with export potential. To enhance the level of productivity in the meat, wool, cashmere, and the skin and hide processing industries, some specific projects and programs have been initiated for the implementation of specific objectives, such as the creation of environmentally friendly industrial complexes for processing commodities of animal origin and the intensified development of the livestock sector.

Mongolia’s food, agriculture and light industry sectors constitute 31 percent of the country’s GDP. Therefore, based on considerations of the total resource base and the size of the domestic market, Mongolia has strong potential to effectively develop export-oriented food, agriculture, and light industries based on sustainable livestock and crop production.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) having prioritized support for the development of the agricultural sector, has been implementing the Investment Policy and Agricultural Investment Promotion Project since Fall of 2016. Studies undertaken in 2017 clearly point to the potential of intensified meat and dairy farms, dairy processing, slaughtering, and meat processing industries, as well as downstream cashmere processing to attract foreign direct investment. Among these, intensified livestock farms will play an especially important role. For that reason, concrete activities were implemented for the application of international best practices and to support investment sentiment. Project awareness-raising activities targeting private sector companies in Mongolia, which were organized in May 2018 with support from the Japanese company KNS and its CEO, Tsukasa Kaeda, led to some very innovative ideas.

To follow up, a series of seminars, experience sharing, peer- to-peer meetings, and events involving representatives of leading meat processing companies were organized. Furthermore, a study tour featuring Kazbeef Company, which operates a purebred cattle farm, 10,000-head feedlot, and a state-of-the art slaughtering and meat processing plant in Kazakhstan, was organized in June 2019.

There are numerous cases of knowledge and experience being gained from such learning opportunities put into practice. One example is the development of the
