This group has been designed to assist students and families with resources and how to plan on moving toward that good life now and after school. Meeting is held at Empower Abilities, Bldg B and they will be discussing What is Transition? The event will have live bands and dj’s, dances both nights, a beer and margarita garden, silent and live autions, bingo, games and rides for children, dinner and concessions both Friday 5 pm – Midnight and Saturday 2pm – Midnight. 2200 W Republic Rd Springfield MO September 6th – 8th Japanese Fall Festival (Springfield), The Japanese 24th Annual Fall Festival is a celebratin of authentic Japanese culture highlighting Springfield’s sister city relationship with Isesaki, Japan (formed in 1986). Each year, a delegation of Isesaki citizens travels to Springfield to contribute to the festival through demonstrations and interactions with attendees. September 6th – 8th Braum’s An Affair of the Heart An Affair of the Heart has been a tradition for Oklahoma shoppers for over 30 years and we’re excited to finally bring our show to Springfield! Experience the unique opportunity to browse hundreds of retailers from across the nation selling unique, one-of-a-kind items celebrating the craft, skill, art and style of the vendor. Our second annual Springfield, Mo., show will feature over 100 vendors at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds selling everything from housewares and antiques to jewelry, clothing, home décor, handmade items, furniture and gourmet foods. Show times are Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door and each ticket is good for all three days. Kids 12 and under get in free. For more information or to purchase tickets online visit [email protected] . September 6th & 7th Southwest Missouri Celtic Heritage Festival & Highland Games (East Park Street, Buffalo, Mo). Join us for the 17th Annal Southwest Missouri Celtic Festival & Highland Games celebrates the heritage of the Buffalo Head Prairie by the immigrants that settled in the area and created Buffalo, Missouri. Every year Clans represented will provide a living history of their Clan from Scotland to their influence in the creation of America. They will also provide information for Genealogical study and resources for those wishing to further their ties to the people from the Celtic areas in history. The clans will participate in a traditional Calling of the Clans on Friday night and will march in a clan parade and presentation on Saturday. Friday night admission is FREE, featuring some of the many musicians, vendors & clans that will participate all day Saturday. The Calling of the Clans ceremony will begin at dusk. The highly competitive Highland Games begin at 9 am Saturday and will include: The Bramer Stone Toss, Open Stone Toss, Weight for Distance, Weight Over Bar, Heavy & Light Hammer, Sheaf Toss and Caber Toss. Kilts are always welcome but not required! September 7th 2019 Fall Train Show NEW LOCATION and FREE PARKING! Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, 3001 N Grant Ave, Springfield, Missouri 65803. Don't miss the biggest and best train show in the region. Experience more than a DOZEN operating model railroads, ride the kiddie train, shop from a sea of vendor tables filled with trains and train related merchandise, operate a locomotive simulator ... and September 2019 Page 2 of 93 MORE. Admission is $8, children 11 and under are free. There is plenty of FREE PARKING at the EPlex and we will have more space, with several large layouts added to our show! September 8th Bolivar Country Days 10 am – 5 pm. A fun-filled festival with the Little Miss Country Days, kiddie tractor pulls, car show, entertainment, kids games and activities, photo contest, fantastic food, live entertainment, vendors and crafters, upcycle contest, art display, kids alley and more. Located in downtown Bolivar. September 8-9th Wickman's Fall Festival (Springfield), 9am-3 pm 1345 S Fort Ave, Springfield. Free admission for everyone! Booths for crafters, artists and bakers! Local venders include: Tinga Tacos Food Truck, Tara's Pony Rides ($5 per ride, cash only!), Pineapple Whip, Nana's Kettle Corn, Red Wagon Lemonade stand and so many more! Trailer Perk Coffee will only be available on Sunday. St. Agnes School will be selling ice cold drinks. Kiddos (and adults) will love our hay rides and barrel train for 50 cents per ride! Free face painting available and enjoy Krissi's Kids Korner with rock and pumpkin painting for a small fee! There will be NO ATM available so make sure to bring plenty of cash for the vendors who do not accept credit cards! Of course, Wickmans famous mums, asters, succulents, fall wreaths, pumpkins and gourds will be ready for purchase! September 12th – 14th Seymour Apple Festival, 9 a.m.-10 p.m., downtown Seymour. Three-day festival with live entertainment, crafts and other vendors, contests and more. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. No animals other than service animals and for the pet show on Thursday. September 13th – 14th Conway Community Days, 6 pm Friday – 9 pm Saturday. This is our 41st Conway Community Days Celebration. Food, fun, music, and craft vendors. Don't miss this annual event. September 14th Gem City Days in Diamond, Mo, 10 am-8:30 pm. Parade, live music, vendors, concessions, silent auction, entertainment, car show, talent show, pet show, petting zoo, tangles the clown and games for kiddos. Lineup: Larry Stephenson Band, Red Letter Edition, Little Roy & Lizzy, Farm Hands, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, Larry Sparks & The Lonesome Ramblers, Carolina Blue, Clay Hess, Lorraine Jordon & Carolina Road, Garrett Newton, and Rhonda Vincent & the Rage. Tickets $20-25 per day or $55 for a three-day pass; children age 12-16 half price with adult, children under 12 free with adult. Camping available. Coolers allowed. September 19th – 21st 46th AnnualBranson Autumn Daze Festival, 9 a.m.-6 p.m., historic downtown Branson (behind Dick’s 5 & 10 on the corner of Atlantic & Commercial Streets). The festival is free to the public. Throughout each day, an entertainment stage will feature FREE live music from some of Branson's finest entertainers! Crafters and artists from around the country will participate. Shoppers will find a wide variety of items including wood crafts, quilts, clothing, crocheted and knitted items, jewelry, hats, purses, ladies' accessories, toys, floral arrangements, ironworks and collectibles. Many vendors will be demonstrating their techniques! In addition to continuous entertainment and homespun wares, Autumn Daze will also feature a food court, Downtown Branson businesses sidewalk sale and more. Free admission. Vendors lined up around the square, as well as live music and activities for kids of all ages. Free admission. 417-880-8984 September 20th -22nd Wilder Days on the square in Mansfield, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home and Museum, 3068 Highway A, Mansfield. Wilder Days is an annual celebration commemorating Laura Ingalls Wilder, America’s favorite pioneer girl, and her cherished “Little House” books. Hear Pa’s fiddle, take a tour of the home and enjoy the grounds of Rocky Ridge Farm.
