CIES Football Observatory Player Development Ranking WORLD CUP 2014 Player Development Ranking - World Cup 2014 Méthodologie L’Observatoire du football du CIES a le plaisir de publier son classement sur les clubs ayant contribué au développement des joueurs sélectionnés pour la Coupe du Monde 2014. La France est en tête du classement par association nationale, devant l’Angleterre et l’Allemagne. Le classement prend en compte le nombre de joueurs formés par club parmi les sé- lectionnés, ainsi que le nombre de matchs joués par club par les sélectionnés jusqu’à l’âge de 23 ans. Cette limite d’âge a été choisie à partir des règlements FIFA sur les indemnités de formation. Les clubs formateurs ont par contre été définis sur la base du critère de l’UEFA : au moins trois ans dans le club entre 15 et 21 ans. La France est en tête du classement par association nationale, devant l’Angleterre et l’Allemagne. Ceci est principalement dû au nombre élevé de joueurs formés en France jouant pour d’autres équipes nationales, notamment africaines. Ce résultat reflète aussi le fort taux d’emploi de joueurs de moins de 23 ans dans les équipes françaises. Par club, Feyenoord Rotterdam devance Barcelone et Dinamo Zagreb. L’équipe néerlandaise a formé 9 joueurs sélectionnés pour la Coupe du Monde. Deux autres équipes ont formé autant de footballeurs que Feyenoord : Barcelone et Deportivo Saprissa. Cependant, les joueurs sélectionnés pour la Coupe du Monde ont disputé 882 rencontres de championnat à Feyenoord jusqu’à l’âge de 23 ans, alors qu’ils en ont joué 783 à Barcelone et 445 à Deportivo Saprissa. Au total, 821 clubs de 59 associations nationales ont contribué au développement des joueurs sélectionnés. A propos du CIES Football Observatory L’Observatoire du football est un groupe de recherche faisant partie du Centre inter- national d’étude du sport (CIES), une fondation de droit privé affiliée à l’Université de Neuchâtel (Suisse). Créé en 2005 par Raffaele Poli et Loïc Ravenel, ce groupe se com- pose de quatre chercheurs spécialisés dans la récolte et l’exploration de données, ainsi que dans leur analyse statistique. Deux rapports sont publiés chaque année. En janvier, la Demographic Study propose une analyse approfondie du profil des joueurs et des équipes dans 31 ligues de pre- mière division d’associations nationales membres de l’UEFA. En juin, l’Annual Review se concentre sur les joueurs et les clubs du big-5 en complétant l’approche démo- graphique par des analyses économiques et l’étude des performances sur le terrain. The content analysis technique was used, which consists of perceiving the existence or the lack of information about a specific issue. Data were collected on the websites of participating sample clubs shortly after the deadline for disclosure of the mandatory financial statements. It was perceived that most of the clubs segregate from professional sports activities (87.5%) and discriminate by the nature of revenue between ticketing sales, sponsorship, television, transfer of athletes, among others (80%). In addition, clubs with high disclosure levels and good quality information had a better sporting performance than those who have not. However, clubs still do not meet the obligation of Interpretação Técnica Geral 2003 even after 4 years since it has been publicized. Moreover, there is a lack of comparability between the statements and the quality of the information disclosed, essential aspects for the users.

    BALANCE POR EL PERÍODO 01.01.2018 al 31.12.2018 INSTITUCIONAL Ajuste del régimen de disputa de Torneos Oficiales y Clasificación a Copas Internacionales En el mes de enero 2018, la Asamblea General aprobó modificaciones al régimen de disputa de los Torneos Oficiales y de clasificación a las Copas Internacionales, regulación de situaciones especiales en los Torneos oficiales (art. 22) y adecuación del Reglamento General y Código Disciplinario a lo previsto en el art. 38 del Código Disciplinario de FIFA. Ratificación de la nominación de los miembros de la Comisión de Licencias para la temporada 2018 y Comisión de Apelaciones. Se aprobó por parte de la Asamblea General la ratificación de los miembros de ambas Comisiones Elección de Presidente de CONMEBOL La Asamblea General analizó el punto conforme el art. 17 literal J del Estatuto, e impartió instrucciones al Sr. Presidente de votar la reelección del Sr. Alejandro Domínguez. Mundial Femenino Sub17 de la FIFA Uruguay por segunda vez fue sede de un campeonato mundial de fútbol de la FIFA; el primero en 1930 y en noviembre de 2018 el Mundial Femenino Sub17 en Montevideo, Colonia y Maldonado. Cabe destacar que se recibieron sendas nota de FIFA felicitando a la AUF y al Comité Organizador Local por la organización del Torneo Reforma Estatuto AUF Durante el 2018 se trabajó intensamente en la reforma del Estatuto AUF, habiéndose conformado por decisión de la Asamblea General de Clubes una Comisión Especial a tales efectos. Con fecha 31 de mayo se sometió a consideración de la Asamblea el Proyecto de Estatuto de AUF, aprobado por CONMEBOL Y FIFA.

Abstract Purpose – The purpose of this paper is twofold. First, to highlight the heterogeneity of the organizational aims within the professional football teams in Ligue 1. Second, to understand why some teams swing from a win orientation toward a soft budget constraint from year to year, and vice versa. Design/methodology/approach – Financial data from annual reports for the period 2005/06 – 2014/15 was collected for the 35 Ligue 1 clubs. To define the compliance degree of the intended strategy of those clubs, an efficiency analysis was conducted thanks to the data envelopment analysis (DEA) method. This performance measure was supplemented with the identification of productivity and demand shocks to build a theoretical model. It allow to precise nature of the evolution of the win/profit tension in the utility function related to the gap expectation/performance. Findings – The paper suggests that a team can switch from one archetype to another from year to year due to the stochastic nature of the sport industry. The club director’s utility function could also be maximized under an intertemporal budget function to adjust the weight between win and profit according to the opportunities in the environment. Originality/value – The paper shed new light on the win/profit maximization.

    VOCES NUEVAS VOCES NUEVAS VOCES Rituales en la Ultra Morada: la máscara de la pertenencia Onésimo Gerardo Rodríguez Aguilar Después de una desgastada noche, vivida al ritmo galopante de los bombos, cientos de jóvenes regresan a sus casas. En el bus que sirve de transporte para “Los Cruzados” se escuchan algunas historias, historias juveniles que narran los constantes trayectos de un grupo de muchachos que religiosamente visitan los estadios de fútbol nacional para acompañar a su club. Se hacen llamar “Los Cruzados” y pertenecen a La Ultra Morada. 2 Minutos antes, los jóvenes que contaban historias en el bus -las cuales proyecto en mi imaginación como metáforas de mundos imposibles-, estaban reunidos en el teatro futbolístico por excelencia, el estadio. No eran solo “Los Cruzados”, estaban también, “Los del Sur”, “Los de Abajo”, “Los de San Pedro”, “Los Canallas”, “Los Verdugos”, 1 Co-investigador y coordinador, Escuela de Antropología Social, Universidad de Costa Rica, e-mail: [email protected], [email protected] 2 El presente artículo se desprende de una investigación desarrollada bajo la modali- dad tesis efectuada durante los años 2004, 2005 y 2006 con la barra organizada de aficionados del Deportivo Saprissa (club deportivo de Costa Rica) denominada La Ultra Morada. En ese sentido, este texto presenta algunos de los rituales escenifica- dos durante los encuentros futbolísticos por esta agrupación de jóvenes. Además de los rituales expresados por La Ultra, se presentan algunos elementos del bagaje sim- bólico del colectivo, y otras situaciones que sumadas describen el sentido extático y lúdico que reviste la agrupación para sus integrantes.

    Rivalry in the football industry and its impact on the stock prices of listed football clubs Master Thesis Finance BY W.J.Tankink Supervisor: J.H. von Eije Groningen, January 11, 2018 University of Groningen Faculty of Economics and Business MSc Finance Words: 9381 Abstract Rivalry in the football industry is examined in this paper as it analyses rivalry effects on stock price performance of football clubs. It does not matter which sport is exercised and at what level, rivalry among clubs is one of the main sources of attractiveness of a league. The rivalry among football clubs leads to a positive “mood” in case the rival loses and leads to a negative “mood” in case the rival has a for them positive match result. It is hypothesised that these emotions due to the performance of the period rival affect the stock price performance of the focal football club. This study shows that there is evidence that the results of the period rival can have an impact on the investment decisions of club supporters. Introduction Football, or what they call it in the United States soccer, is a well-known sport exercised all around the world. It all started in 1887. From then on it was allowed by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) to recruit football players as an individual football club. This was the start of, what is familiar to us now as, professional football. In other words, money made its entrance here and the role of money has increased a lot since then (Dobson and Goddard, 1998).

ANTECEDENTES El Estadio Manuel Ferreira, conocido popularmente como El Bosque de Para Uno, es un estadio de fútbol de Paraguay que pertenece al Club Olimpia. El Club fue fundado el 25 de julio de 1902 por un grupo de jóvenes paraguayos. El nombre nace a raíz de la idea de su miembro fundador principal, William Paats, un holandés radicado en Paraguay a fines del siglo XIX, quien es considerado el padre del fútbol paraguayo por haber insertado y fomentado la práctica de dicha disciplina deportiva en el país. Olimpia remarcó su predominio en la Liga Paraguaya de Fútbol cuando Manuel Ferreira Sosa asumió la presidencia del club a mediados de los años '50. Durante su mandato, se construyó el escenario actual del club, el Estadio Manuel Ferreira, con una capacidad para 22.000 personas. El estadio, que también es conocido como "El Bosque de Para Uno", fue inaugurado en mayo del año 1965 en un partido entre el local Olimpia y el Santos FC de Brasil.
